Commentary: After Palin hard-sell fails, McCain aides attack her
CNN ^ | 11-06-2008 | Campbell Brown

Whatever you may have thought about John McCain's running mate -- about whether she was qualified, prepared or experienced enough for the job -- try to put all of that aside for just a moment, because Sarah Palin is who she is.

She did not become measurably more intelligent or measurably less intelligent during this campaign. Remember, she was only part of the campaign for a matter of nine weeks.

Sarah Palin is who she is, which is why I find it so stunning that the very people who introduced us to her, who told us she would make a great vice president, have now turned on her with a vengeance.

FOX and Cameron were only passing on news--what had been leaked to them. They're not the issue.

The issue, as Limbaugh pointed out, are these country club Republicans.

There was no way a Republican was going to win this year because of the unpopularity of President Bush, and the economy. McCain came close...AFTER he picked Palin. Coincidence? I think not.

But McCain was too interested in having the spotlight on himself. His grandstanding "suspending my campaign" thing was as much about getting attention away from PALIN as from Obama. As soon as it came over the radio, I said, "Oh, you just blew it, man." I could FEEL any confidence I had in this cruddy candidate drain away.

And now he will crawl back to the senate with the prize he REALLY wants--the love of democrats and Chrissy Matthews. I suspect he'll pout and run as an independent like his wished-for VP pick Joe Lieberman when it's time for his re-election bid.

While McCain is a great American, he's a crappy Republican...and unfortunately, there are a lot more just like him at the country club.

McCain may very well have had the worst campaign staff in history and they seem determined to make sure everybody knows it now.

Everyone, including the media knows it. They were incompetent. The campaign had so much opposition research yet used hardly any of it. The only reason Ayers was mentioned was because Palin went "rogue".

If even half of what you say now is true, then boy, did you try to sell the American people a bill of goods. If Sarah Palin is the reason some voters chose Barack Obama, that is no one's fault but your own.

Truth and fairness from Campell Brown?

Hardly-read into it.

She's ripping into the leakers as as she's ripping Sarah.

No bias no bull my ass-Campell Brown can f' off.

Ouch! That’s going to leave a mark.

I can’t quite figure Campbell out. She has all the earmarks of a leftist - job, personal history, family background, but then she goes and marries Dan Senor who’s always struck me a conservative, at with respect to foreign policy.

Anywho, I only watch her show with the sound muted and Bolero on the stereo.

No problemo here.

We all know the a**holes MaCaca chose to help him get elected. It's Ironic that they expected a 'little' woman to LIFT this weasel to victory. Imagine that!... The weasel could not lift his own weight... If she had not come along he would have disappeared from the picture long ago.

She was the ONLY positive thing that came out of that bunch.

She is a class act. Needs more international exposure and she will be ready to be president. She is AUTHENTIC in as much as can be expected from a politician.

I thought McCain showed great judgment in picking Palin.

It seems that he showed zero judgment in picking his staff.

She takes a couple digs at Palin but she did say CNN found out the things being repeated are completely false.

That sums it up

Someone else may have mentioned this, but on the 6th Rush stated that, “By this point the McCain team had spent more time trashing Governor Palin than they have spent trashing Obama over the last two years.”

McCain himself has defended Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and the entire Democrat party. All I hear right now is crickets.

McCain either has control of his team or he doesn’t. He either approves of what they are doing or he doesn’t. Either way, what is taking place right now is proof positive that McCain neither has the character to lead, or the skills to lead. He can’t even keep his team under control, unless of course they are doing just what he wants them to.

Look up “The Leper Project”.

A lot of people are paying attention to this, and are taking names.

Palin is the future of the Republican Party, and there is a faction that Does Not Like This.

They are trying anything they can to bury her post-campaign.

I find it disgusting to see the same people who lauded her turn on her. That I expect from her enemies. But from the people who were supposed friends? Let's out em and see to it they never work in Republican Party politics again!

As I said earlier; Sarah Palin has struck fear into everyone. First she had to handle the onslaught form the Obama machine icw the MSM. After they ran over her; McCains team picked her up to throw her under the bus again and again. Senator McCain - Your Silence is Deafening. Obviously, everyone wants her to go back to Alaska and never even think of returning to the lower 48.
She gave me the impression that she believes in our conservative principles. A little more time on the national stage and she will be able to articulate our principles even better. That is the fear that she has stirred up. She attracted more people to rallies than McCain and everyone took notice. Why do you think the attacks on her are personal? Her principles are sound, nobody will challenge her on a conservative stance. I am truly sick of watching this party constantly shooting itself in the foot, to save someone’s butt..We should rise above this type of stuff.

From the Ace of Spades site, earlier today:

*************************

Just had a tip from a max McCain donor who called their office to find out if McCain would defend Palin. He gave his name and explained he had donated the max, establishing he deserved some amount of customer service.

"That person," this idiot insisted, "has already been fired."

"You mean Randy Sheunemann? He wasn't the one smearing her, he was the one defending her."

"You don't understand," the guy "arrogantly" responds (characterization from source), "He's been fired. It's been handled."

"You don't seem to understand. Sheunemann is not the person smearing Palin," my guy says again.

"Look," the guy says, becoming irritated on top of being arrogant, "Senator McCain cannot step out and defend Palin every single time someone says something bad about her."

"Can he do it once?"

Hang up.

He called back to get the guy's name. He got hung up on again.

*******************

... and that's how the John McCain campaign stands up for the one individual solely responsible for his not ending up electorally (and humiliatingly) routed, 49 states to 1.

No honor.

None what. so. EVER.

I disagree. They could have destroyed Obama with Wright and Black Liberation Theology and his other associations. In a sense it is good that the US has its first AA President, but they could have destroyed him if they wanted to.

Yep. A campaign staff only distinguished by its incompetence and lack of grace.

Its becoming apparent that McCain surrounded himself with classless hacks.

How hard would it be, at the end of a hard-fought campaign, to give one another a hug, a handshake, wish one another well, and go your separate ways. And if anyone asks you about it, remember the parts that made you proud. How hard would that be?

List up these people, make a website called "Leper Colony" and put their names up there for everyone to see for the next four years.

NONE of them should get any campaign jobs in 2012 with Sarah, nor in her Presidential Administration from 2013.

While we are at it, the likes of THIS:

should be taken down from FR. He is at least 50% of the reason for the drubbing we got!! Why should we, as CONSERVATIVES, continue to worship at his feet like robots.

They ran the biggest stiff since Frankenstein and they're blaming her for the loss. Hilarious.

And I am no Palin fan either. She was totally unqualified. But McCain was as much a drain as she was.
