I do so love it, when President Bush says my name!!! Music to my ears. VP married well too ;-)
That picture just moved me to tears......Do you realize that Laura’s birthday was election day.....Don’t know about her but it was the worst birthday of my life.
Thanks for the dose and I understand how you feel after posting the dose I have kept away from the computer today and news/current affairs programs watching some crime and nature programs on TV instead.
Will check in tomorrow for pings etc from Thursday/Friday
Take care my FRiend tomorrow is another day.
The President’s expressions yesterday ‘say’ all that need to be said about a man of incredible courage, character and compassion!

I LOVE GEORGE W BUSH DAY
By I Think Therefore I Err
November 6, 2008 ·
Today in the Washington Post, Eugene Robinson has a very good column (and I generally cant stand his columns) concerning how exciting it is for him to have a black man in the White House.
Im excited for him and for all black people in this country. It MUST be amazing. I know because for some reason, when Sarah Palin was picked to be VP, I too was very excited about the prospect, just because Im a woman. (never believing Geraldine Ferraro or Pat Shroeder or any other woman had a chance before) So good on em but today is I Love George W. Bush Day.
Theres even a bumper sticker. (ht the Anchoress)
I just wanted to put some of these columns to post.
Michael Gerson of the Washington Post.
But that humanity is precisely what I will remember. I have seen President Bush show more loyalty than he has been given, more generosity than he has received. I have seen his buoyancy under the weight of malice and his forgiveness of faithless friends. Again and again, I have seen the natural tug of his pride swiftly overcome by a deeper decency a decency that is privately engaging and publicly consequential.

BUSH, OBAMA, AND GHOSTS OF HATE - UPDATED
THE ANCHORESS
Meanwhile, from Grand Rants:
“Here is a man who is regularly compared to Hitler in casual conversation in Leftist circles high and low. His honor has been regularly impugned, his intelligence (or, as the press loves to put it, his intellectual curiousity) constantly demeaned, his verbal stumblings consistently mocked, and his accomplishments in office discounted or ignored. He is a man who kept his head down and did his job, despite the slings and arrows hurled at him by fortune made all the more outrageous by nearly the entire Democratic party.
I for one, would like to say thank you to Pres. Bush. For keeping us safe. For watching out for us. For persevering in spite of all the spite. I believe history will ultimately judge you as one of Americas best presidents, and I believe you deserve that judgement.”

He will be vindicated by true historians, of that I am
certain!
He is a gentleman and a patriot!
Thanks for your links, Deb!
Looking forward to the joy part of the Scripture verse in Your tagline...I’m still not past the tears either...
I find it hard to be on line much right now too.
The joy is sapped because of O... h the HUGE insanity... (of it all!!!!)
I wish we could turn back the President Elect will be, clock, to 2000!!!!!!!!Pres.B. & F L Laura era replay and loop mode playback. A dream Presiential service/terms senario, indeed!!!!
vs a looming years long nightmare on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Hope You have a restful weekend away from the multitude of things that are causing unexpected outcome numbness;shock & sadness,etc...
GOD bless You,in return.
See/type/write to You later, till that time comes again, (((((Take Care!!!!!)))))
I had read that he would be starting the Freedom Institute, sort of a think tank I guess. Dr. Deb probably knows more about this. I would love to get involved in it in whatever way I could contribute.
‘..He’ll never imagine how much he’ll be missed .... How much pride, happiness and gratitude in all his White House yesterdays .. how deep the sorrow at his leaving and what’s to come for us.’
I’ve meant to write for a long time....and, I will....but, it’s so hard....i start getting teary eyed even thinking about what I’ll say.....but, it’s a must. I can’t believe how many people, these days, are making negative comments about President Bush....even Republicans. Makes me angry...they get an earful from me. He needs to hear from those of us who are grateful for all he has done to keep America safe, and how proud we are that he and Laura represented our great country.
Thank you for posting the wonderful picture of W and Laura...their look at each other shows their love and the special bond between them. It is truly a beautiful picture. This brings me to another sad thought.....I don’t want to lose touch with all of the wonderful people on the Dose. It’s like we’re family. I’m so grateful to those...like DrDeb, snugs, silent-jonny, LuvW, daisyscarlett, kaslin, you and others who work so hard to post the wonderful pictures which make the rest of us happy. There are no words to express my gratitude...
I hope that we can find some way to keep in touch.
Sorry for rambling.....just so many mixed emotions and it’s easy to express ‘feelings’ about W with those who feel the same.
Someday soon we’ll look back at these threads with nostalgia.
Any chance of Daily Dose switching to the remaining House and Senate members trying to hold down the conservative fort? Maybe even some promising governors (Sarah Palin and/or Bobby Jindal).
Just a thought.
I just hope we find a way to stay here for something!
I still miss all the Tony Snowflakes since he is gone. *sigh*
Thank you .. ;) We’re all sniffing at the thought
of the dreaded day, but we won’t dissemble our gathering
spot. One way or another, we plan on keeping our Sanity Island.

Weve got the hobbit hole, undead threads, America the right way, Amys place, etc. It would just need a name and maybe a theme to keep the chat going.
I’m all for that too. We could call it “Sanity Island” or something. Make it a weekly thread with daily pings with news and photos.
We’ll need a safe gathering place now more than ever.

I’m ALL for Sanity Island
We will need it more than ever to get through the next 4 years .... once a week ... and a a thread we can find when we search for it by: Sanity Island .. that would be great!
Folks could post every day, and it would be a thread that was a monthly thread, like the Threat Matrix, and we could check and/or add to the monthly thread as we wish.

Hang in there!
Oh man! The look on the President’s face while he’s hugging Laura just got me SO fahklempt!
Somehow I can't see That One being so caring and gracious.
Thank you so much I collected your package from the sorting office on Saturday and my friend Phil is coming round with a card for me this afternoon and I will open it then. He has already given me my present the bathroom lino and fitting for me a few weeks ago.
Thanks for my toaster, it is perfect as always. I had honestly all forgotten about it.
I thought A Day in the Day of President Bush (Special; Remembering January 20, 2001 and 2005 Inauguration) would be a perfect title. What say you?
