Rick Davis - longtime campaign manager for McCain’s Senatorial campaigns. Owns a lobbying firm in DC where Fannie Mae was a longtime client. Davis was co-head of the presidential run with Schmidt. Davis was in way over his skis. He’d never successfully run a national campaign before and is a moderate RINO. His polling and direct marketing strategies (and teams) were nowhere near the level of past presidential campaign strategies.

Nicole Wallace - former W communications manager. Track record of failing at her job. And promoting herself on the backs of a candidate or campaign. Frequent spokesperson on behalf of “Republicans” on CBS News.

Christian Ferry - worked for Davis at his firm. Ferry was responsible for technology and internet in this campaign. The internet presence was pathetic (limited press room updates, appearance schedules never updated on time, voter2voter failed hourly) then no astroturfing. I can go on and on about voter vault, internet and other technology problems.

Steve Schmidt - Rove protege. Battled with Davis over strategy control.

On a positive note - we will be back! And Sarah will be back! If we have to go underground to hear Rush and Sean and Mark, so be it; but we cannot give up. I am so glad everyone on here is determined....some of us are a little deflated, but we are NOT DEFEATED.

But if the GOP does not get its act together and I am very angry with the GOP over this Sarah Palin bashing, they ARE going to lose more people to 3rd party.

If so, it will make it easier for the Dems to maintain their grip on the WH and congress. I completely understand conservatives' frustration on this issue, but the unfortunate fact is that third parties don't work in this country.

Clearly, Americans were itching to sign on to for the hard-minded, resolute decisiveness of John Kerry and the concept of the "global test", but in the end they decided they couldn't abide John Edwards.

Clearly, Joe Lieberman was what held back the vibrant, down-to-earth and soulful Al Gore, particularly in Florida.

Clearly, Jack Kemp impeded the creative, fresh, and dynamic Bob Dole campaign in 1996.

But for Dan Quayle, George H.W. Bush would have won a second term in 1992; the elder Bush had both Clinton and Perot on the ropes throughout that campaign until the potato gaffe.

And clearly, Lloyd Bentsen loused up the otherwise sure-fire victory of Michael Dukakis; if only his debate performance had been stronger.

And Joe Biden was the one carrying Obama to 349 electoral votes.

Yeah, that's the ticket.
