The McCain Campaign’s Classless Cowards (already attempting to blame Sarah for their loss!!!)
MichelleMalkin.com ^ | 11/05/08 | Michelle Malkin

The anonymous trashing of Sarah Palin by blabbermouth McCain aides who are leaking to Fox News is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.

Allah’s got the vid clip of a report citing unnamed McCain staffers accusing Palin of lacking, in Carl Cameron’s words, “knowledgeability.”

At least all the Hollywood and Manhattan Palin-haters were willing to sign their names and put their faces on their attacks.

Let’s assume the rumor-mongers are telling the truth for a moment. Who does it damn more: Sarah Palin or McCain and his vetters who green-lighted her for the vice presidential nomination? Don’t need an Ivy League degree to figure that one out.

Sarah Palin worked her heart out. She energized tens of thousands to come out who would have otherwise stayed home. She touched countless families. I didn’t agree with everything she said on the campaign trail. But two fundamental conservative stands she took mattered greatly to me: She vigorously defended the Second Amendment and the sanctity of life more eloquently in practice than any of the educated conservative aristocracy.

And she did it all with a tirelessness and infectious optimism that defied the shameless, bottomless attempts by elites in both parties to bring her and her family down.

Shame on the smearers who don’t have the balls to show their faces.

Thank you, Sarah Palin. Thank you for stepping up the plate and serving your country.

***

More: Ace of Spades is %^&* spitting mad:

Here’s a story these staffers tell: Sent to collect Palin from a hotel, she greeted them, straight from the shower (running late, I guess ) dressed (scandal!) only in a bathrobe (presumably a very thick hotel bathrobe).

These staffers called that “uncommon” — Cameron delighted in the word to give it the sound of “whorish, unprofessional.”

Heh, assholes? She had to open the door and had just gotten out of the shower. Did you want her to use her magical powers of telekinesis to open the door for you?

So is RedState, which announces an accountability project.

I do. I love Sarah Palin, and I think she has great qualities that are lacking in most everyone else on the horizon right now (except perhaps Bobby Jindal, he’s looking interesting), but before she’s ready for the top slot on the national stage, she needs a better command of general facts. She seems to have a lot of native intelligence and common sense, and that’s refreshing, but without a better grasp of the details that the policy wonks live for, she’d wind up laughed off the stage/eaten alive before she got started. And it’s not just for appearances’ sake, she’s going to have to know these things to be taken seriously. With that command combined with her own energy and courage, she’d be formidable. Without it, she’s not ready for the big league of Washington, especially running for leader of the Free World. It would be ludicrous.

Guys like Reagan and Clinton had ample exposure to national and international geo-politics. Reagan travelled quite a bit to many countries before running for president. Clinton spent time in United Kingdom as a Rhoads Scholar. Plus he was a political junkie.

As for Governor Palin, it is not her fault that she did not know Africa is not a country. She has been a governor for what 2 years of remote Alaska? And she has not traveled to many continents and talked to international politicians. But my observation is she is a quick study and now that she has national and international stature, she will absorb all kinds of foreign policy know how before 2012. SHe will be more than ready in 2012.

Look, Sarah's Father may have been a science teacher, but, trust me, as an older gentleman, he went to university during a time when you got a REAL education—a general education in EVERYTHING!

I have not an iota of doubt that Sarah knew Africa was a continent and could probably name more than a few countries! This is scurrilous, scandalous CRAP! It is the rantings of a disgruntled campaign worker, trying to save his rep so he can get a job—aided and abetted by a nattering “journalist”! Surely, by now we all know what they are.

And, uh, exactly what kind of knowledge, serviceable knowledge, would accrue the woman from said "prestigious university"?

Barack has already told us that the course he took on "International Relations" qualified him for this job. Even so, I'll trust Sarah's instincts to Obama's classroom learning any day of the week, and on a month of Sundays, too.

Did Reagan have the "benefit" (such as it is) of such an academic pursuit? Palin is from this same mold, and I really do trust her.

If your concern is grounded in possible criticism from the elites and/or the media, then you're expending altogether too much sweat on an area that you simply shouldn't.

The media? The DNC's propaganda arm? Who cares? Basking in the glow of having set up a candidate with the slimmest resume in history as bona fide presidential timber, and having him run against what was probably the weakest candidate running in the Republican primaries, they now fancy themselves king-makers. However, in the mess that is going to follow in the next 4 years, they will see their influence wane rather considerably.

I'm not worried about them, and you shouldn't be, either.

The elites? You mean the ones that got us into our current predicaments, who accept no responsibility for their follies and expect us to listen and believe what they have to say tomorrow? You mean them?

Listen, kid - we're literally dying as a nation here. We don't have much time, and there is a real possibility that we won't make it. Are problems are great, our leadership options few, and we simply can't bother with these pretenders.

We have to forge ahead as quickly and efficiently as we can, and to have a measure of success in our quest we are simply going to have to ignore these buffoons.

Either that, or we develop "specialists" whose job it will be to counter and quiet the adolescent ravings of the "pros".

Either one. But decide soon we must. There's a lot of work to be done in the next 1500 days. Let's not expend our energy on the opposition's insignificant diversions.

At least, that's how I see things.

CA....

(I'm not disparging you or your post - it was a good question - but I have to get this off my chest. Sorry!)

"Palin Derangement Syndrome." Some prime example of which, unfortunately, are on shameful display in this very thread.

Oh my f&%^ing goodness, there is no evidence whatsoever that she did not know Africa is a continent. It’s a rumor you a$$hole. Get over yourself already. Traveling around the world does not give you experience to run the damn country. Honestly, do you think if Palin had decided to take a semester or two of courses abroad, as Clinton did, that would definitely qualify her to run for VP? Are you an idiot or are you smoking something?
BTW, if you are smoking something, please pass some along, thanks.

Good Lord, there is nothing that says a VP candidate cannot have opinions. I don't think it is any secret that McCain and Palin didn't agree on everything—remember ANWAR?

If we talk about “going off the reservation” we really MUST discuss Joe “Blathering” Biden. Now, there's a “rogue candidate”!

Sad when a case turns this virulent, this quickly. First the brain stem goes; then the poor, suffering b@stard ends up chairing neighborhood meet'n'greets down at the corner Denney's for the next Lindsey Graham re-election campaign. ;)

Many thanks! Palin did a great job of bringing back the base. Losses in the House and Senate weren’t nearly as bad as originally feared. They owe Palin a lot of thanks.

Heh. Without Sarah practically carrying the ticket all by herself, McCain's proud electoral legacy would have been the losing end of a 49-to-1 state rout! ;)

The last two years of Dubya's so-called administration and the McLame campaign have convinced me that the leadership of the GOP is made up of very bad people -- just as bad if not worse than the Rats.

Several months ago I vowed that I would never vote for another Republican. Because of Sarah, I voted for McLame. Never again. I don't care who the next GOP presidential candidate is or who he or she is running against, I will never, ever vote for another Republican for anything. I've been deceived enough.

Tuesday night a GOP pundit on Fox was audacious enough to state that the future of the GOP might include Jeb Bush. Now there's a name whose opponent I could definitely get behind.

Anyone who refuses to vote forfeits his right to complain about the winner of the election, in my opinion.

When you quit voting, you'd better quit complaining.

In my opinion, those first 2 interviews, with their cuts “by design”, were unmitigated disasters! They could not have possibly chosen two WORSE interviewers! Whatever political wit planned those MUST have had a political death wish! Those two interviews are the only thing too many people, worldwide, remember about Sarah. Of course, they also fueled the disgusting Tina Fey meme.

Without Palin McCain would have gotten Idaho and Utah, and that’s really just about it. Only reason McCain would have even gotten those States is a gumby doll registered Republican would carry ID and UT.
