Hey Donna, as a conservative who initially supported Thompson and like both Palin and Romney, I’ll agree to not bring up Romneys abortion stance prior to running for President if we can have a ceasfire until 2010 lol
Jindal is sharp as a tack. He is prob. our best bet in 2012 at this point.
The media support goes South.
I have to hand it to McCain. He put a major scare into them when he brought out Sara Palin, so they brought out the long knives and dealt with her shamelessly.
I believe McCain had plenty of mistrust of the media, but I don't think he thought they would react to Sara the way they did.
But they obviously have no problem with Hussein the Marxist’s statement that there are 57 states in the US instead of 50.

Bobby Jindal has about as much chance of getting elected president in 2012 as Mitt Romney, i.e. NONE. The sooner folks realize that, the better!

The RNC needs a complete enema. NOW! I've cut off my cash to them and being surrounded by their staff for the last 2 weeks, I can tell you this is a lazy bunch of Blackberry typers. It's all about them and not about the mission. The RNC leaders need sacked (Duncan and team) and a new group of leaders need to be hired and turned loose to hire and train new middle-managers. I think they get it, but I think they're trying to hang onto their jobs and will stop at nothing to spin this into Palin or the fault of conservatives.
We either kick the RINOs out of the party (they’d be more at home with the Dims, anyway) or start a new party for conservatives.

This thread sounds like the discussions we were having during the primaries. Remember how sad we were when Fred Thompson turned out to be uninterested in running? When Duncan Hunter bowed out? We were stuck with McCain. If Sarah had been on the radar then we would have been ecstatic.
As it is, when Sarah did come along we were buoyed up like a cork on a wave. Whereas McCain was like an anchor tied to the cork. We couldn’t make it work.
Sarah needs some additional polish and coaching, and she’s ready to go for 2012. I’ll be rooting for her all the way.
Nope. No big whoop. . when it’s okay for Biden to gaffe like a champ, and he’s who we are stuck with a heartbeat from the novice President, should a tragedy happen, now THAT is embarrassing. Biden just lies and bloviates and does it authoritatively. He learned that down at “Katie’s” Restaurant up in Scranton over on 65th Street.

Great observation. The CountryClubbers (Noonans etc.) are already fighting with the rank and file through the media to concentrate power.
We conservatives need to be involved starting now.
Well, the sins of the McCain campaign will be discussed for months to come, as will the media bias that probably made the biggest difference.
But the sabotage of Palin’s career in the wake of this defeat is inexcusable.
I voted for McCain in spite of Palin. In my opinion, she cost more votes than she garnered and I, for one, hope she goes back to Alaska and stays there.
Care to elaborate why?
This is an attack on a genuine Conservative by the Lipublicans and RINOs.
The GOP needs to purge its ranks of these pukes.
The Conservative Republicans need to adopt the tactics of the NRA. The NRA fights every attack on 2nd Amendment Rights, no matter how small and trivial the contest. They know that the liberals are satisfied by incremental baby steps of progress. These baby steps add up and with time fuse to overwhelm the real issues.
We need to target
1) The Lie that is Man-Made Global Warming
2) Environmentalism
3) Political Correctiveness (this is a Free Speech issue. Just because someone is a jerk does not mean that he needs compulsory sensitivity training)
4) Give no ground on right to life
5) Give no ground on gay marriage
6) Oppose ALL tax hikes, no matter how small
7) Freedom of Religion does not mean Freedom from Religion
8) Separation of Church and State does not mean purging all religious references in schools and government. It just means the government can’t tell you how to worship.
9) Less welfare and social programs
10) Public healthcare. People on the public dole should not receive better health coverage than someone working a low paying job. Privative healthcare.
11) Teachers should teach, not indoctrinate liberal views.
12) Sex education is the domain of parents
13) Child protective services needs to lose its law enforcement powers.
14) Police should be police not paramilitary assault units (SWAT).
15) No longer than 3 years on death row, then you die.
16) Kil plea bargaining
17) English needs to be the official language. Offering other language printed materials is just too expensive.
18) Close the borders and actually enforce it.
19) combine DHS, FBI, DEA, ATF and some of the other law enforcement agencies. There is too much redundancy.
20) The government needs to go on a diet. Cut out 2/3’s of all the civil servant jobs. They are not really needed.
