Really, that’s what you have to do.

When you fall down, you pick yourself up and dust the dirt off you nose and hands and butt, and maybe try to figure out why you fell, then get on with it.

I’ll take an honest liberal over the many corrupt pubbies in Congress. Unfortunately, honest liberals are even rarer than honest pubbies.

Remember our beloved Ronald Reagan, lost too. But he came back and is one of our Greatest Presidents. Don’t sell Sarah short. She has spunk and wisdom just as Ronald Reagan did. President Bush is not the cause of our loss, it is us, the silent majority who allowed this. Yesterday I worked in the polls and saw people whom I thought were conservative....they voted straight democrat. They were so proud, they had to tell us...they voted democrat because that’s what their folks were and they carry on the tradition. Thoughtless voting.

How conservative is Rick Perry?

Gov. Good Hair!!???? Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha . . . . . . . .

He doesn't bring to the table what Biden brings to Obama!!! And, that's not saying much.

Most Texans aren't too enamored of Gov. Good Hair and can't wait to dump his butt. Not a good choice for national office.

“polls have about as much credibility as a screen door on a submarine..”

Seems the polls this time weren’t as far off the mark as folks kept claiming they were...

Just sayin’...

Don’t be silly...you don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater...some 20 conservatives were elected to the House yesterday....you take that and you build on it...much easier to turn the GOP to the right than to try and start a national third party!

We turned this around after LBJ, Carter and Clinton;
we can do it again and we’ve already started with the conservatives who were elected to the House yesterday!

Wasn’t thinking national office...I just was curious. I saw his name on the list of Governors up for reelection so I thought I’d reveal my ignorance and ask. :-)

What has happened to Virginia??????????????????

Agreed that 2010 will not come soon enough but the real issue here is our current President. I voted for him twice but he is at fault here. 1. He did not stand up and defend himself when the Dems attacked him. The US Attorney non-issue is a perfect example. 2. Iraq. Great in theory but a complete waste of money. 3. He spent way too much. He should have stopped the Republican congress in 2001 to 2007 from spending by vetoing every bill.

One thing on McCain: At the last minute I heard the best ads but they were way too late. Michelle Malkin is right stand on your ideas. We are still right.

They are a product of the upper class in this country. These upper class voters who Left the GOP after they got their tax breaks need to pay more taxes. 74% of the country CEO’s in a poll said they think Obams policies would be economiclly disastrous. Since they didn't fund MAc and since they just sat on their thumbs and did nothing. And since they are the people who give us the coporate MSM. since 72% of Wall Street money went to Obama, then it is obviously true that they need to PAY MORE TAXES AND THEY NEED TO PAY A LOT MORE TAXES.SCREW THEM! And while they are at it they pay my taxes and my health insurance also. I didn't feel that way until lately but things have changed.

The economic meltdown was the final nail. McCain had a puncher’s chance to win a close one before the bailout. The hope I have is that this can be a temporary blip rather than a fundamental change.

People forget it has only be 5 years or so since the Democratic party was in a similar situation...too liberal to get power again...too divided to be put back together.

But the Dems have always been better at being ruthless.

. . . . but with only 36% of people self identifying as conservatives, the party is in trouble.

I don't actually trust that number. The big problem is that we have allowed the DBM to define what conservatism is and they have corrupted the definition.

If WE define conservatism, I think many, many more will realize that conservatism is NOT the demon that the DBM has defined it as.

I agree...and even if that number is true ... I think 36% is great given how “evil” conservatives are portrayed.

Thank you. Yes, I know that I go against the grain of many of these people here. So many of them think they are always right and correct. But, we are all free men and women. Free thinkers. Free to come to conclusions on our own. I do that. I don’t expect them to agree with me. I don’t claim to be the chosen one like Obama and have ALL the answers to ALL the questions. I am simply a retired, old soldier. I served my beloved Republic and will continue to serve her. But, first and foremost, I will serve my Lord. I don’t fear Obama or his liberals crowd. They can tax me, they can take my house, car and book case, but they cannot take my heart, my soul and my spirit. My God has those. I don’t fear death. I know when I die, I will be ALIVE immediately with the Lord. So, let the liberals do as they might. They are nonbelievers. Their true day of reckoning is coming. They will burn in hell. That is their legacy.

2010 won't come soon enough for me!

Bwahahaha!!! You are under estimating the power of ignorance and dependence. This Country just went hard "left" for a reason. With a low approval rating the dem Congress just became stronger. 2010 the dem's machine will respond by remembering 1994. Welcome to a total European collectivist State.

In order to change all this will require working from the ground up starting with your neighbor. Repubs will be the whipping boy for years due to Bush's/GOP leader's incompetence and provide cover for any perceived "problem" the dems encounter. Make sure everyone you know realize who the real culprits of bondage are, spendoholic, hyper-regulating, and (Creating) laws upon laws republicrats from the wasteful, bloated bureaucracy of the United States.

I feel absolutely demoralized. I feel like they destroyed Sarah.

They did. And Republicans bought it. In important states, stayed away in large numbers.

Bush One gave us Bill Clinton.

Bush Two gave us Barak Hussein Obama.

Don’t let a Bush Three anywhere near the White House.

==

As the presumptive for 2012, Gov. Palin needs to wrestle leadership of the GOP. If she has any desire to run again, she needs to take control and start restructuring the GOP now. And that means cleaning out the big-business country-club globalists.

Otherwise, the GOP may not see leadership possibilities in the WH, Senate or House for decades, unless Obama falls flat on his face (recall that even an embattled, weak Bill Clinton got re-elected).
