And we need His grace now more than we ever have before.
I can only pray that our great country will survive.
I will continue to pray for the POTUS. It is something that I believe Christians should do. I’ll pass on the Ping list because I usually catch the threads anyway. Thanks for all you do. :-)

Hope you can bring yourself to post “bring him to repentance on abortion and don’t let him completely despoil the country” prayers, mostly.
If I contribute prayers of my own in the comments, that’s the sort they’ll be.
It was my hope then that God would give us one more opportunity to return this country to Him. He has chosen not to do this.
Of course God will bestow blessings on individuals but I firmly believe that He has removed His hand from us today
This is not something He has done to us but something we have done to ourselves.

I see this country out at a cross roads: we will either elect a Marxist or not. If this country elects Barrack Obama the USA will no longer exist as we knew it. If we elect John McCain we may have another opportunity to return the US to its true glory.
I cry out to our God for mercy. I beseech Him to have mercy on us and allow us one more time to return the dedication of this great land. If You Lord choose to allow the US to leave our dedicated purpose I know by Your Grace that: No Matter Who Wins the Election I still believe: The Bible will still have all the answers. Prayer will still work. The Holy Spirit will still move. God will still inhabit the praises of His people. There will still be God-anointed preaching. There will still be singing of praise to God. God will still pour out blessings upon His people. There will still be room at the Cross. Jesus will still love you. Jesus will still save the lost when they come to Him. Prayer is the key to Heaven, but Faith unlocks the door.
We are supposed to pray for the unrighteous so that God can use them in the furtherance of HIS cause. But sometimes that seems more theoretical than real. Let the American people pray for their secular Messiah!
I don't know if Obama will open his heart and mind to God's wisdom and council, or if he will harden his heart and enclose his mind like Pharaoh, but I pray that if he does not listen to God, that at least some of those he surrounds himself with will be more receptive to divine council and wisdom.
I know this may be viewed as terribly un-Christian by some but at this point in time I cannot pray for Obama. I pray daily with another group for our country and will continue to do so. We prayed already this evening and have added to our list the names of those that we consider true Conservatives Congress members as well as a special request from one of our members whose parents were Christians in Iraq and were murdered last week as they were the last two coming out of church one evening with their Bibles in their hands. My father often quoted, “The willow tree which bends is stronger than the oak which resists” but I just can’t get to that point right now. I am consumed with sadness that I have lived all these years to see the last years of my life as I foresee them now. And more importantly I am frightened about the life that my adorable grandchildren may face.
Lord, thank you that you are still on your throne, that you rule the nations. Help us to remember that our hope is not in a political system. Our hope is not in a president. Our Hope is in you, Lord. We will obey your Word and pray for our leaders. We will pray that they would turn their heart toward you and do your will. We will continue to live our lives for You and not for man. Help us to be about Your business and fear no man.

Truthfully, I am just not at that point yet. I know I should be but I am not. I am bitter and angry. I know as a Christian I shouldn’t be. I am working on it, though.

Even though we are not happy about who won, the American people used the American process and voted, and it’s still our country and we should still pray for it even if we don’t like who is in charge. God’s will be done.
Christians have become stronger duringtimes of persecution.
this may be one of those times, or, this could be the beginning of the end times.
We pray for all lost souls, that they may come home to You, Lord. Help us to lead, but also follow, to be sure of Your Way.
We follow to the daeth, as it is a natural end to end one in this world. What better way to serve than to end life serving You.
We know this is Your Will for this nation. May the eyes of many be opened to what they have done. Instead of freedom through love, many have chosen chains of hatred.
We praise You name, Lord, in all You do. Amen.
Prayers for our country. May God be with us, and may He guide our leaders along the right path.
