Shooting herbivores who wander on your property is not the way to deal with them. If the bison had been breaking down his fences and trampling his property, then all he needed was a camera and a few pics of the animals and the and a quick damage trip to the sheriff’s office.

Not sure I'd want bison on my property either. Bison are the second most dangerous North American animal.

The property Mr. Hawn owns isn’t used as a ranch; it’s just a vacation area. In the first place, a rancher doesn’t hate animals and KILL them!

There isn’t any one that knows that the buffalo did any damage to anything; they’re just guessing.

It could have been a herd of elk that stays in that area; or even Hawn’s horses rubbing on his solar panels and TV dishes could have been the problem.

Hey there Obama supporters. Nice to see that y'all won't mind when the Obomination wins, since you are stridently supporting his share the wealth of the wealthy in this thread. Y'all seem to think that the bison guy has every right to send his Bison to roam loose because of open range laws. He may have had the legality of it, but the law doesn't make it right only legal.

• first, the open range laws were writtten in the 1800's when cattle were what the applied to. At that time every rancher in his right mind considered Bison to be dangerous nusances to be killed on sight (and they did)
• Second, no one has answered my point about someone raising wolves or mauntain lions and letting them run free, and oh BTW if you don't want them on your property it's YOUR responsibility to keep them out. Both wolves and mountin lions are considered less dangerous than Bison.
