GOP Internals Actually Show McCain UP in Pennsylvania and within the margin of error in Michigan.
Quinn & Rose Radio Show ^ | 3 November 2008 | Jim Quinn

Pennsylvania is shaping up to be what Florida was in 2000 and Ohio was in 2008. On the morning drive in, I was tuned into our nationally sydicated talk show which broadcasts from Pittsburgh, PA.

He was reading from GOP internal polls. McCain has actually moved into the lead in Pennsylvania (but still within the margin of error) and was only 1% behind in Michigan. Keep working and don't give up!

Was anything mentioned about Virginia? I’m looking for Virginia info..

What would you like to know? The campaign and RNC are still advertising pretty heavily in VA (at least northern VA, where I'm at). McCain was just in Springfield VA (20 minutes outside of D.C.) on Saturday. I took that as a very good sign, since it's in Tom Davis' district (VA-11). Davis is retiring (hooray!!), and the Dems were supposed to have this seat virtually wrapped up. But GOPer Keith Fimian has a little more money than his opponent, and the district went 50-49% for Bush. So the Pubbies have a shot at keeping this seat.

Last I heard is McCain is outperforming President Bush (2004) in southern VA. If that's accurate, Obama can't win. I still stand by my now very dated prediction of McCain winning VA by 5-6 points.

It should resonate beyond just the coal producing states. This would cause big electricity rate increases across the country.

Obama = higher energy prices across the board.

You’ll need that $500 welfare check and then some to pay for gasoline and electricity.

Why didn’t they send Palin and husband to Michagan?

Much of Michigan is similar to Alaska culturally (outdoors).

Ohio was in 2008? Is the election here done already? D@*@(! I missed it.

Was it from “karl” in Ohio? He comes up with some crazy state #’s.

Nope, not me. :-). I haven't be passing out any numbers either sane or crazy.

Do the hosts know who “Carl from Ohio” is, or is this some crank getting his jollies by doing this nonsense?

Believe me...nothing would make me happier, but those numbers do not comport with so much we see...

Thanks! I can believe it. I was calling from a cell phone but if I had used the landline, the wires of the phone would have been fried with some comments. I have never had that happen in my life.

Reposting from page 1:

Here is what he reported based upon supposedly internal GOP polling:

PA: M - 52, O - 40
NJ: O - 47, M - 45
MI: M - 45, O - 44
VA: M - 53, O - 42
CO: M - 50, O - 44
MO: M - 49, O - 42
FL: M - 52, O - 44

These are numbers given to him by a regular called named "Carl from Ohio" who claims to be a part of the RNC or the McCain campaign. They are to be taken with a boulder of salt.

Agreed. These are from Karl in Columbus who had McCain ahead in New Jersey. The next time a Rep. wins a pres election in NJ, Army or Navy will play for the BCS football championship. Forget these numbers.

Wow—this is going to be a very interesting evening.

I wonder how many people will take off work tomorrow to go vote as Obama has told them to do?

**********************

Among his demographic? Any excuse to take a day off of work will do... and + the Mesiah himself said so...

By the way — do you know how much this new, Obama-declared “national holiday” could cost the US in GDP? Billions... but hey that’s ok — it’s not like we are in a recession or anything... oh... wait...

This is a perfect example of how much bho cares anout small business owners...

BTW — I own a small business — anyone calls out sick tomorrow w/o a note from an MD — and they can start looking for another job.

The same guy that prompted me to make this comment:

The same guy who provided the inside sources that promised Romney was VP.

I used to love Quinn and Rose. Now, they have no credibility whatsoever. Disregard this news.

NJ is such a tease.

They always look attainable but are always out of reach.

Let's see: Gallup, Ras and Pew have Obama over 50%. Research 2000 has him at 50% and all of these are polls overloaded with Democrats. He's probably well under those figures in reality and if they have to doctor the polls to make him look good, he's nowhere that good. You can take that to the bank tomorrow.

So many McCain supporters are quiet supporters

Agreed. While I would consider myself more anti-Obama than pro-McCain I think your statement holds true.

Myself and others I know, for the first time have refused to put bumper stickers on our cars and signs in our yards for fear of what the Obamabots would do to them.

How many McCain people have acted the same?

This is just anecdotal obviously, but encouraging nonetheless...

My mother, who is a lifelong Dem. voting for McCain, called my lifelong Dem. Aunt up in Michigan to see who she was voting for. My mother told me when she asked, my Aunt said,” I don’t really want to talk about it”. The reason she said that was because she figured my mother would be voting for Obama, but it turns out both of them thought the other would be voting for Obama but both are voting for MAC.

Take it for what it is, but it was encouraging to hear!

To be accurate, he’s had Obama leading in NJ ... but narrowly.

I work for a mom and pop run restaurant and they are McCain supporters. I asked them if they had heard about Obama telling people to take the day off to vote and they hadn’t.

It is true—it would cost dearly.

Thanks for your observations :) I’ve been told to keep a close eye on Virginia (and of course Pennsylvania) and to watch the poll internals there carefully.

Which is why I have nothing on my car, just personalized Steelers plates, which I get complimented on all the time.

I'd stay away from Cincinnati with those plates.

LOL! I was about to make the same comment (and add Cleveland, too).

The Bengals are now 1-8. With some breaks we are on the way to the playoffs! We just have to win in Pennsylvania, Indiana and a lot in Ohio (just like McCain).
