“We will see the results in 48 hours, and some pollsters will have their reputation tainted, if not ruined.”

Are you kidding? After 1996? The pollsters kept chugging along even after that fiasco. The only way they’ll really be held accountable is if the predicted winner loses. But if they’re just off on the margin of victory it will just be shrugged off.

No. That's impossible. I can see the Democrats up 4+ or 5+ but 10+? That kills any credibility this poll has for the election.

Wow...Gallup is predicting an even bigger Obama blowout than the New York Times. That says a lot...

Talk about being an outlier. Christ, Gallup is going way out on a limb here.

Psy ops yes, but it can backfire by causing complacency among bambiphiles, especially the young who would rather party than vote. I know a lot of pubbies who have taken the bait and believe bambi will win, however, all of them are going to vote anyway. I don’t think the psyops is going to work at all in favor of bambi.

They are basically predicting an 8% advantage to the Democrats on election day in their writeup, no way.

It's actually +10 in relation to Republicans. +8 is in relation to Independents. -Bob

Gallup is about to be very very wrong.

Hopefully there will be a purge and a resurrection of the brand.

Um,

When it isn’t a landslide, and the polls are proven wrong...we will have entensive roundtable discussions about how we can’t get over racism in this country. The pollsters won’t be wrong - the American people will.

BTW - Ohio McCain, New Hampshire McCain, New Mexico McCain, Colorado McCain, Iowa Obama, Penn.....McCain!!!!

The poll I looked at earlier had McCain 50, Obama 46. I like your poll results better. It seems impossible that McCain wouldn’t win Arizona.

If 0bama was really up 10, I’d have expected him to travel to MN, GA, etc., to help out the Dem senate candidates. He continues to fly back and forth in the same battlegrounds identified in Mason Dixon.

Daily Kos poll’s overnight on Sat was a 4 pt race.

Anything within 2,and McCain will win the electoral college.

They are saying independents outnumber Republicans in the electorate? That didn't happen in 2006. I don't buy such a drastic change in the composition of the electorate over two years. This poll is way, way, way off. That's all I know.

Yep, and tommorrow morning, the media will be raving about this poll, without even bothering to mention how utterly ridiculous the dem +10 advantage is.

I just hope it doesn’t discourage too many republicans and those crucial undecideds from making it to the polls.

That is their goal. I am convinced of it. They have really outdone themselves this year, and that is saying alot.

Exactly right. Springsteen got 100,00 for Kerry in Ohio. With Obama, he could only manage 65,000. LMAO!!

Here’s why I think these polls are so inflated. The press is telling America that this thing is in the bag for BHO. Then, when he loses on Tuesday, and mayhem ensues (not just for days, but for weeks and months), it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Who else will be there to cover the riots and grab the ratings?

Pump it up big so that when it falls, the networks are there to show us all the horrific pictures.

“....Its psych ops warfare. This is maximum vote suppression and they hope Republicans and conservatives will take the bait and stay home on Tuesday....”

That’s precisely what they want! Prove them wrong! VOTE!!!

Gallup had Kerry up 4 in Ohio in 2004. Bush won by 3, so Gallup was off by 7.
