Only liberals would be so cruel as to make fun of a baby in his Halloween costume.

The comments after this are absolutely repulsive. Their disrespect for human life and a disabled child are horrendous. Yet this is the group that claims to be tolerant!
No, do not say that these people are sick. Schizophrenic people are sick. Bipolar disorder patients are sick. People who suffer from major depressive disorder are sick. Saying that someone who does and says what is clearly evil simply absolves them of responsibility, as if they had some organic malfunction in brain circuitry beyond their control.
This is different. This is wicked. This is a willful abandonment of themselves to the indecent, the foul, the ugly. This is evil. Most of us do some small evil from time to time, but these people choose to live this way, and think themselves good, and refuse to seek the Light. It is a decision for which they are entirely responsible. Don’t absolve them by saying they are sick.
I have a son who is now 36. Unfortunately, he is voting for Obama. He’s also a Down Syndrome child. I guess he’s ok in the books of these cretins whose posts I was reading on this vile thread you posted. I value my son’s opinions more than I value the opinions of the toe jam posting on that thread.

Yep. I ventured over to Daily Kos, and while the comments there were much friendlier to little Trig, there were still remarks about him being Bristol’s.

I did the same. My thought while viewing the picture of dad and his kid was that I felt sorry that the kid had to be subjected to this glaring media exposure (and I haven’t even read any mean-spirited comments regarding the child).
Now this. Disgusting.
A couple of years back I spoke with a couple of FReepers about a potential run for state office. I was reminded that my family would be open season for whisper campaigns and nasty innuendo. In the end I didn’t think it was worth the exposure to my children and I abandoned my plans.
