EDITORIAL: What if Democrats win it all?
The Washington Times ^ | 10/31/2008 | Washington Times Staff

Posted on 10/31/2008 3:24:35 PM PDT by DoughtyOne

If Barack Obama is elected into office as the 44th president of the United States on Nov. 4 and voters, in tandem, give the Democrats 60 seats in the Senate and give them a solid majority in the House. What happens after Inauguration Day?

Single-party rule is inherently totalitarian whether the people consent to it or not. In most cases, one-party states rise out of authoritarian regimes, including former monarchies, or socialist revolutions. There are currently seven - China, Cuba, Eritrea, Laos, Vietnam, Syria, Korea. The United States would become the eighth.

Single-party rule is something to fear in and of itself - particularly from a spending standpoint, regardless of which party has absolute power. From 2003 to 2005, George W. Bush and the Republican Congress created the largest expansion of Medicare in history the prescription-drug bill and started two wars. They also succeeded in creating the largest tax cut in history.

The hubris exhibited by Obama and his enablers in the MSM is such a perfect setup to a supremely bitter defeat. Thank-you God for delivering victory to John and Sarah.

Forget the Polls, forget the money, forget the media. Just PRAY and VOTE.

I agree. I can’t wait to see the MSM players crying in their soup. I should record hours of it that night, so I can replay it over and over and enjoy to the fullest extent what their treachery gained them.

>>I hate to tell you - but, we have lost the conservative movement.<<

McCain is hardly a conservative.

The overall editorial explained why one party rule is bad. And it left no doubt that it thinks Obama may get it. That is something voters should know before voting.

Handing that kind of power to someone who has hidden his motives and his agenda as studiously as Obama has, is like handing a loaded double-barreled shotgun to somebody you don't know.

>>we have lost the conservative movement.<<

A contest to test the “conservative movement” should require a conservative candidate on one side. One could argue that conservatism was discarded in the primaries.

Starting at the grass roots, it’s time to rededicate ourselves to Conservatism, and do it in such a way as to attract allies throughout the nation.

D1, you nailed it!

Bush43 taught us that "getting along" or "bipartisanship" is akin to suicide. Look at Bush's approval numbers. This is what he got for extending his hand across the aisle.

It is time to take over the Republican Party from the inside. Silence the moderates who constantly tell us to hold back and not go too far with conservatism. Find decent, conservative candidates and put together another Gingrich revolution.

Exactly correct. With the Criminals in total control, we would see lawlessness skyrocket - everywhere - making the vote fraud we have now look like child’s play. Vote fraud trumps disgust with those in power every time.

And the payoffs to certain groups by the thieves in power will be so massive - like the Communist Parties in every communist controlled nation who lived like kings while the masses live in abject poverty or in labor camps - WITH the highly paid military on their side (yes they will fill our wondeful military with THEIR people and pay them VERY well) tyrants rule without fear of losing power.

That was Hillary’s dream. They couldn’t quite pull it off in 2000 and 2004.

O’s plan with his communist cohorts has been so masterful I am sure it came from Satan himself. But we must remember satan is on a leash and while he appears to be triumphing at this time....his doom is sure. The doom of ALL those allied with him is sure - which is one reason for my being sick at heart for those I know and love who are at present in his camp.

If Chairman O wins with his fellow criminals in total power, I am already stocked up on forgiveness for those I love who are in his camp who will one day say....what have I done!

Will they and others be ready to move to sanity in government after 4 years? Or even in 2 years?

With bilions being given to Acorn from O and his fellow criminals - do we really think there would ever be free and fair elections in this country again? I do not.

I have often wondered how a one-world government would come into being, I felt so secure in this nation’s sovereignty. But with a global economy, and after seeing how this current credit crisis was handled, I’m beginning to see how it could happen. And Obama’s campaign has indeed been masterful. I’m remembering a comment that was posted by FReeper Wolfstar in April:

“Obama is immensely scary. He’s a Marxist who loves radical techniques to force change to the far Left. He hates whitey. What I want to know is why this dude is in such a hurry to park his butt in the presidency. Straight out of college, he deliberately seeks out black radicals in Chicago, spends a few terms in the state legislature, runs for the senate, barely spends half a term there, then goes after the presidency like a shark after bloody chum. What’s this guy really after? And who’s really backing him?”

Who’s really backing him, indeed. His campaign is right out of Saul Alinsky’s playbook, “Rules for Radicals”. He’s backed by the corrupt Democrat Party political machine, and he has been heavily influenced by Marxists like Wright, Ayers, and others. And Sarah Palin is right: What did those people see in Obama, that caused them to gravitate toward him?

Back in the 60s, Nikita Kruschev warned the U.S., “We will destroy you from within, and we will start with the young people.” Our education system has been influencing kids wrt capitalism vs. socialism. For example, from time to time, I hear things like kids being made to take their new school supplies and put them in a pool of supplies that will be passed out to everyone, to teach kids about “sharing”. Bill Ayers, who IS in education now, has apparently figured out that it is easier to bring his brand of “change” by infiltrating the education system, while cloaking himself in “respectability”.

Tin foil hat time: I don’t think that Obama is the antichrist, but I’m beginning to see this as a sort of trial run. It’s scary how many people have been literally hypnotized by this empty suit with star power. However God is in control, and I don’t think that it’s any accident that He has revealed to His people what is happening, and I believe He has raised up Sarah Palin for this time. It is no accident that she is on the scene.

I would too. If you’ll take a look at the type of nations the Washington Times listed, you’ll note that none of them could be confused with leadership like that of the right in the United States, even if it did have a one party rule situation.

While those are examples of nations with strong figurehead rulers, most of them do have a functioning body of government under them. That functioning body is generally a very tightly regulated rubber stamp, but then that’s what we would have here too, if the Democrats swept everything.

I think it’s a reasonable comparison.

China has a politburo. Vietnam on the other nations have something similar. Even a strong dictator has to have underlings running things, and they are generally in some form of government governing body. They act as a rubber stamp to be sure, but they govern their underlings and the populace in accordance with the strong man’s wish.
