6:30 at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The line has already wrapped around nearly the whole grounds of this 6500 person venue and I realize we should have gotten here a few hours earlier. They must have given out a lot more tickets than seats. Anyway, even if we don't get in it is exciting to see thousands of cheerful Mo. McCain / Palin supporters. This is going to be a huge, genuine demonstration of confidence in the ticket.
Also people are coming in twos and threes and families. No bussed-in rent-a-crowds from Illinois like the Gateway Arch rally for The One. This is pretty amazing.
Good for you! I missed it as replying to an email myself! What did you say! Was it a question for Sarah?
Great crowd from Rush’s home town!! :)
No, I just, ‘as a Canadian fan of Sarah’, thanked the station for the coverage.
Crowd jiving to “Living in America” as part of the warm-up.
The guy dressed up like Abe Lincoln thinks he’s at Studio 54!
What a hoot!
Well, we got turned away just before we reached the doors. There were still people lined up far back from where we started three house.before. I wonder how many tickets they handed out. My boys were fusspointed buy I told them they were still part of an important show of support.
So close! Thanks to you and your boys for supporting Sarah!
Maybe you’ll see her arrive at the venue!
Sorry for the typos but iPhone posting and driving... Ones gotta suffer.
I love Dolly’s “9 to 5”! Wish Dolly would come out in support of McCAin/Palin! :) Or maybe she has I just missed it!
PING!!!
I’m running Version 11
That works! Thanks...
Sarah arrives on stage to tumultuous applause and cheers. Introduces the First Dude.
Begins to speak.
Thanks and recognizes all veterans in crowd.
Sarah asks “Missouri, are you ready to make John McCain the next President of the United States?”
Crowd goes wild.
Sarah says the government is “of the people, by the people and for the people!”
And a guy dressed up like Abe Lincolcn is standing behind her.
Speaking of their plans for the economy.
Spending freeze;balance Fed budget by end of first term—lower income tax; cut capital gains tax-to wild applause
Obama has a “ideological commitment to higher taxes”.
Sarah says she has confronted corruption in Alaska.
Mentions John McCain the maverick—crowd applauds.
Talks about ‘spreading the wealth” by Obama.
Mentions “Joe the Plumber” and crowd erupts.
Crowd likes her saying “government will take less of your money in the first place.”
Bottom line: bureaucracy needs to do more with less.
You should not be working for the government, your government should be working for you.
God, she’s a gem! (That was an editorial comment)
Asks crowd “Will you hire us? Will ya send us to Washington?”
Crowd is wild, now chanting Sarah! Sarah!
