A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 10-29-08

This morning President Bush welcomed President Barzani of the Kurdistan Regional Government to the Oval Office. The two leaders discussed the future of a democratic Iraq and the upcoming elections which Iraqis unanimously approved last month. (Transcript)

In related news—news that the mainstream media refuses to report—the Wasit Province, located south of Baghdad, was returned to Iraqi civilian control today.

Press Secretary Dana Perino: It becomes the 13th of 18 provinces to take the lead for its security in Iraq. It's the second Iraqi province to transfer security responsibility in the last two weeks, and we had Babil just a week before.

So now, more than two-thirds of Iraq is now under provincial Iraqi control.

And it was another day of HUGE rallies for Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Gov. Sarah Palin as she campaigned around Ohio, first speaking in Toledo, then at a rally in Bowling Green where thousands of enthusiastic supporters welcomed her and Ohio native Joe Wurzelbacher (aka “Joe the Plumber” ), who joined Sarah & Todd on stage, and finally Sarah spoke to thousands more at an outdoor rally in Chillicothe.

the Obama infomericals couldn't have been that good, LOL ;)

LOL! I couldn't bring myself to watch it. I don't know if it's the change in seasons or what, but I was so tired last night. I'm going to blame election fatigue. ;-)

I used to cringe when you called them “Agent Frowny” but now I realize it’s a term of EXTREME endearment and respect. “;^)

Absolutely. And Agent Frowny frowns more than the other frownies :)

I guess it was Gym Owner's and Frowny's night off :)

I was really hoping for picture of Joe, Todd, and Frowny, too. I would have made it my new wallpaper. :-)

Hi, b9!

It’s complete respect! Those men and women sacrifice so much for the safety of our President and the candidates. Just the time away from their family alone is a sacrifice. They have to be on high alert constantly.

I remember hearing once (don’t know how true it is) that the secret service officers who protect the President have to be rotated out every 18 mos. to two years because it’s so stressful.

And, as Jonny said, Agent Frowny frowns much more then the rest of the frownies. LOL

I wonder how many are even married at all with families.
Talk about a high risk job ~ hard to be married to that kind of stress, to someone willing to take a bullet 24/7, with eyes in the back of their heads, trained to be suspicious of EVERYBODY.

Yeah, that’s true. I can’t imagine being married to someone in the SS either. You’d never be able to relax (always thinking “what if?”) or really plan anything like family vacations. Family life would always have to come in second.

God bless them and their families. It’s not an easy path they’ve taken, but they serve our in ways most of us couldn’t even imagine.

Just think of all the pending threats they're carrying, that we'll never even know about.
I assume everyone they protect are also aware, underneath cheery exteriors.

Oh yeah, we wouldn’t want them to smile all the time. It would be unnerving.

There are so many jobs where family life takes a back seat.
Humble heroes in law enforcement and the military.

And then we hear reports that less than 10% of their absentee ballots from overseas even get counted! Sometimes I truly think military and law enforcement folk should be the ONLY ones selecting our President and Congress, I really do.

They sacrifice, like you say, in ways we can’t even imagine.

“GWB is the reason there hasn’t been a terrorist attack here in over seven years, he’s also the reason that 50 million people are now free to hold democratic elections in the Middle East (the President of Kurdistan acknowledged that fact during his visit yesterday). The unborn now have a much greater chance of actually being born thanks to the persistence of President Bush. And we have experienced five years of record economic growth during his administration due in large part to his tax cuts.

So you can either sit back and watch Obama (and Reid and Pelosi) throw all of that away while you bitch and moan on an internet message board, or you can get off your ass and go vote for McCain-Palin.

For the sake of this country, I suggest you do the latter.”

We LOVE that mug, and are grateful for his devotion and that of his brothers and sisters in service to our country. When you see Sarah in a crowd, check her immediate vicinity ... he's usually eyes, ears, weapons and frown ON.

Look at adorable Piper .... awww.

The second one from the top is my favorite Agent Frowny picture of all-time.

If you look close, he’s got laugh lines. So, he’s probably quasi-smiley in his off hours.

He can still kill a perp with an eyelash 14 ways before he knows what happened, but he can also flash the pearly whites when he needs to. :-)

You couldn't be more wrong about President Bush.

A great hoax has been created by the MSM and you have fallen prey to that hoax.

We on the “Dose” understand the monumental change for good our President has done for Americans and the citizens of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Sarah and her family must be SO GRATEFUL.

Hope we get to see four more years of Frowny. “;^)
