“I lost a bunch of friends recently too. Oh well. I ain’t supporting Marxism. Period.”

**********

Add me to the list of those who’ve lost friends over this election. Two LONG time friends — otherwise reasonable people or so I thought. I’ve pointed out all the “stuff” about Obama yet they don’t see it, or WON’T see it —

Enough! No Marxists for me. Just the Bill Ayers connection alone did it for me.

Well, if Obama wins, I will remove any relative that is currently a Beneficiary of my Trust who voted for Obama.

One Niece is leaning Obama, so she will not benefit from my years of hard work and sacrifice if she in fact does vote for him. Everything else will remain the same, but my money goes to those who deserve and appreciate what it took to earn it.

I would never think of destroying a relationship over this election. People make decisions, and they live with the consequences. Your “friend” was not the friend you thought they were. You are better off finding out now than when you really needed them.

Since you're the gun owner, they will run to you for protection when things go from bad to worse.

Remember the Twilight Zone episode with the guy that built the Bomb Shelter?

Trenton (State Capitol, filled with urban barbarians) is only 3 miles down Route 206 from my house. I've got a mixed case of bricks (00 and 1 shot), and will be more than willing to give a five minute lesson in how to handle a shotgun (just handing one to somebody is very dangerous, especially if they fail to shoulder it).

The last time they had riots in Trenton (1968, after MLK's assasination), the "youths" broke into a sporting goods store and started hitting golf balls at the state troopers (who were horribly underprepared). Governor Richard Hughes (who's son Brian is now County Executive) was at a dinner part elsewhere the first night and refused to call in the national guard until he got sick of the media asking him to end the rioting in his own state capitol.

I’ve never lost friends because of such things but then again my best friends are not liberals. I have many acquaintances and people who I am friendly with who are liberals. I am serious about this election and while I’d never cut a friend off if someone personally close to me was voting for Obama I’d find it difficult to remain so close. This election is serious and presents clear contrasts. Someone who votes for Obama is not voting for the America I know or love.

Here in Kansas, the local Mexicans are REAL Mexicans. Many of our Wal-Mart co-workers don’t speak English. Many of us ‘Anglos’ have Hispanic last names but only a few are bi-lingual, in high demand. Oh well.

The hundred pound black lab, Bubba, is not for Obama, even though he is black. Unfortunately, he’s not for McCain either

cats. ACORN wouldn't let me register them as Republican voters. So I had to do it myself. On Tuesday, we will all trot across to alley to vote for Palin --- but this is Kansas, which hasn't gone DEM since LBJ.

Why are my cats giving me those strange looks?

I made the “mistake” of wearing a Dole/Kemp t shirt to my Dad’s house in ‘97. That was the last time he talked to me. When he died last summer I went to see him on his death bed and all he could say to me was “I can’t believe you voted for Dole”.

I miss him!

lol I wore a Rush Limbaugh shirt in front of my dad - Only Once! We stayed on speaking terms. He died just before the Clinton scandals broke out so I never knew what he would have thought of them.

Someone who votes for Obama is not voting for the America I know or love.

Isn't that the bottom line?

It says everything about a person, IMO.
Loving America is loving freedom, opportunity, earning power & genuine growth, both economical and spiritual.

This is normal. You’re young enough that you’re still pulling out the weeds.

About time you dumped this tard.

Absolutely: I can not talk with friends or some family about politics at all. It has become the norm. The Democrats have pitted an “us against them” attitude for so long there is no way to communicate without them calling me names and risking our relationship.

Class envy has gone to far.

My kids (both under 18) support Obama. I think because it's the cool thing to do at school and many of their friends do. My wife voted for Obama. She supported Bush in the past, but is upset about the war in Iraq and doesn't like Palin...she thinks Palin first responsibility should be to stay home and take care of her children.

I voted McCain/Palin. Two major reasons: I really like Sarah as a candidate, and have great respect for McCain for all the suffering he has gone through in the service of his country. Not thrilled about some of his past policy positions (illegals, etc.), but I'm hoping he can learn from Bush's mistakes.

Here in Kansas, the local Mexicans are REAL Mexicans. Many of our Wal-Mart co-workers don’t speak English.

How does someone who can't speak English get a green card to work legally? And, why does the management of Walmart enable this obvious fraud, while back-handing us, their paying customers, across the face?

Things like this make me want to scream.

I’d never end a friendship with a person who was voting for a marxist. I’d never walk away from a beautiful woman because she’s an obama supporter. Hopefully my friends would visit me once a month at the gulag obama is planning for conservatives. Don’t expect them to be that brave, but I can hope.

I have left leaning friends. We make an agreement not to talk about politics once we know our individual stands.

If I thought a “friend” would withdraw friendship based on who I am voting for, I would have to say honestly, that person is not a friend.

It would be my guess that we have different definitions of “friend”. Friends help you move; real friends help you move bodies. If they can pass that test I call them friend. I have literally hundreds of acquaintances only five friends - by my definition. Two of them are young men I helped raise.
