Obviously, your friend is either dim-witted or a crypto-Marxist. In either case, he is not good for you. I say, “good riddance.” But, good luck to you.

Some people on both sides of the aisle take all this way too seriously. I have many friends who are very liberal and very Pro-Obama, and I would never sever ties for that.

Of course, the ball was in his court and he ended the friendship, so sorry you went through that. Often, we value the idea of friendship more that actual friends, and we see what we want to see in someone.

It’s usually me who does the dropping or avoiding.

I just have NO respect for their judgment. I view friends as peers and if they’re libtards they simply are not peers - just people I know, not friends.

At least you’ve done a fair share of posting. This guy has posted three vanities and one response in two weeks. That, coupled with his not sticking around on his own thread brings my troll-sense on line.

It's a political world where Osbama Hussein and Johnny B Globalist types will be slapping each other on the back and telling jokes after the election in our nations Capitol. Keep that in mind at all times.

As such losing friend or having family quarrels over the likes of either of these two is at best ridiculous. I only wish the GOP was as far apart with the DEMs on issues as many people including the MSM like to pretend they are.

I refuse to loose friend or family over politics or religion differences unless they are Communist, Anarchist, or devil worshipers etc. Most voters do not even know what Socialism is. As such I do not make it practice to bug the hell out of friend, neighbor, or family about such matters. Discussions? Sure I'll talk about politics if we share that common interest. But I will not let the worship my political party or else B******* destroy or make for what few choices I now have left in life.

He has ended our friendship because I am supporting McCain and not Obama.

After the political season is over strong feelings will subside. I have friends going back some 30 years ... they're dyed in the wool northeast liberals. Their frame of reference (bible) is the NY Times. We sail together in the summer and get together for a ski vacation nearly every winter. We just tread lightly when it comes to politics ... they know exactly where I stand ... which is 180 degrees from their political perspective.

“Those people cannot separate their politics from their personal lives.”

My elder mother has begged me to vote for Obama and my sister can’t understand why anyone would vote Republican. Life is more than politics and I would never let it interfere with my relationship with my family. I have some friends that are net root loonies. They know where I stand and we enjoy the give and take of this kind of a relationship. My rule is to be civil as much as is within me, because there is a higher cause.

sounds like my mother in law

she is totally dumb when it comes to politics.

She has no idea what she is voting for and I know this as I ask her about policies.

For instance I will say do you think illegals should get freebies, her answer no

do you think those who are lazy and don’t work should get a tax rebate, her answer is no

well do you think we should allow little girls at middle school to get abortion with parents knowing, her answer hell no

well do you think two men should marry, her answer, that is disgusting no way

who you voting for

proudly says Democrat

me sigh and rolls eyes

If we had to answer 5 questions before we voted the Dems would never get in power ever again as most of them have no idea about politics or what they vote for.
Most can’t get it into their heads that 6 years of Bush brought us great economic times and a safe country to live, the last two years the Dems have been ion power and have ruined this country

Maybe that is why the Dems need all these bumper stickers as that is all they can remember

What kind of ugly, inflammatory crap is that?

It's the truth.
What are you, his big sister?

No Obama supporter is worth 1/4 of a damn except perhaps as a doorstop or paper weight. They are all historically and psychologically ignorant and self-deluded at best, or well-informed and socially homicidal at worst, wanting to rape, burn, and murder the best of America's successful society. And regardless of where they fall in that spectrum, not a single one of them has the right to cast a vote that affects *my* life. Or *yours* for that matter. The world out there has fangs, you might want to think and act accordingly and not tolerate the Obama snake in your living room.

Anyone else having similar experiences over the election?

Be very diplomatic and as careful as possible. If Obama wins, this so called friend of yours is very likely to be the block-captain of Obama’s civilian force in your town. You will probably be reported in the periodic reports to the Obama civilian force headquarters in Cuba and tagged for re-education if the report is not too bad. A bad report could mean loss of rations and even prison time. You need to maintain some sort of good relationship in the meantime to give you time to plan an escape when the civilian force is funded and in place. Also I wouldn’t mention this to anyone, not even your children as they have been and are being indoctrinated right now as I’m typing this reply. Be very careful what you say to anyone. Don’t attend any church services and avoid contact with Christians. /s

Well at least you found out now before he really would have stabbed you in the back.

Someone losing a friendship over an election is absurd. Maybe your friend should go spend some time on Obama’s turf and just see how wonderful our country is going to turn out.

Good riddance to your friend you deserve better.

My grandparents are like that. Old time Dixiecrats. They’re much more conservative than I am, but they still think the Democrat Party is the same one JFK belonged to. They don’t understand who they’re voting for.

The family now thinks that I’ve been taken by the “dark forces”.

Welcome to the dark side. I have the same problem at work.

The morning after Sarah's 'knock it out of the ballpark' introductory speech at the RNC, one of my co-workers started in on how much they hated Sarah. I asked what she know about Sarah and all I said was I thought she did a nice job for her first time before a national audience. I was stunned at the language and threateneing demeanor of the woman. Let's just put it this way, we haven't had lunch at the same table since then.
