The NRA is going up in 10 battleground states with an featuring a tough-talking Chuck Norris touting the Second Amendment and warning against those unnamed politicians who have not supported gun rights.
"Hes an American badass," said Chris Cox, the NRA's chief lobbyist, of Norris.
Cox wouldn't say how much they were spending on the ad, but that it would be on broadcast and cable, cycled into a seven-figure buy they have up now.
They'll air the spot in Colorado, Nevada, Missouri, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The NRA has spent millions going after Barack Obama but even though the Norris ad is airing in some of the most hotly-contested presidential states this ad doesn't single out the Democratic nominee.
"This ad is showing that this issue is important in races all over country from state legislature all the way up to the presidential," said Cox, explaining the broad theme.
The spot is pure Norris camp, reminiscent of his popular primary ad for Mike Huckabee.

Isn’t he dead?
They CAN'T. Thanks to McCain / Feingold.
"Naming names" is illegal 60 days before an election. The same for Zero's voting record -- can't do it now.
Bingo!
It is a worthless attempt at this point...
Bottom line is you had already better know the voting record of a politician before an election...
If you read any of their monthly publicatins you would find THEY (NRA) DO NAME NAMES and they give records and past and present stance of local, state and federal politicos and alphabet tyrannies.
I just randomly grabbed the March 08 “American Rifleman” off my shelf scanning it just now there are at least 6 articles that contain info about the commie bag fastards that want to grab our guns including the dishonorable Feinstein, hitlary, Bureau of Land Mgmnt (BLM) ...ad I haven’t even scratched the surface .... Articles on what the NRA/IlA is doing and who they are targeting runs cover to cover of each pub.
And that is just a cursory scan of a random magazine 7 months old. As the elction draws near each succesive mag is filled with who we are up against and speak to facts .. voting records.
All one has to do is READ their publications ..the “American Rifleman” is sent to ALL NRA members. Join and become enlightened. Quickly!
It is and eye opener. The DO practice what they preach.

Same here(GA).
Screw the NRA...
Dad’s a lifetime member so I’ll bum his off of him.
I’m not too crazy about being on any mailing list which the “wrong people” could use to identify my “leanings” and get my address, if you know what I mean.
Anonymous donations work just as well.
They are an issue organization, not a party organization. If the incumbent has the same rating as the challenger, the NRA goes with the incumbent. It's too bad the prior incumbent was a RINO. That's how I rate self defense. As a former grunt and taxi driver from NYC, I can't disagree.
If I did that, there'd be a lot of dead TVs at my house.
The incumbent is a first term Dem and one of the recipients of Nancy Pelosi’s permission to deviate from the party line on guns to ensure re election. He’ll be re elected and thus much less likely to face real competition next time so I expect he will change his stance to better suit his party’s stance. I also think Nancy will not release her congressmen to vote other than the party line next time the gun issue comes up. I think it’s short sighted of the NRA to endorse any member of the Dem party in the expectation they will truly defend gun rights. I’m an NRA member by the way.
Nope.
Never done that either.
It was just a figure of speech.
[I once considered one of those foam bricks to throw at it, though]...:)
I thought about that, but the grandbabies have picked up enough of my bad habits already, and might throw something heavier. I have far too many rocks around... (it's okay, I'm a professional (8^D))
IANAL but I believe that the problem is McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform. Irony in that.
John McCain got the money out of the campaign. Except for the foreign and fraudulent donations that power Obama. And the millions from George Soros, whose fortune began with an unusual grubstake, the gold teeth of exterminated Jews when Soros and his dad worked for Nazis in the "final solution."
How's that working out, getting the money out of politics?
Fact is, as long as the government arrogates to itself a third or more of GDP (under Obama, more than half, but certainly of a much smaller GDP), money will be in politics. A bribe campaign contribution pays off 100 to 1 if your politician is the earmarking kind. You can't get that kind of return in honest markets. So the money will be in politics, and much of it will be dishonest money. QED.
