The results of the poll mentioned in this article makes one believe that alot of the people in this nation are more interested in give-aways and government control than in what is best for the nation as a whole.

Why am I not surprised?

That’s exactly what Obama would do; silence all opposition!

Obama has a stunning lack of respect for free speech, and the US Constitution ... Ask Joe the plumber and then follow up with Ms West of channel 9.

Most demagogues and tyrants have little tolerance for the people’s voice. It complicates things for them.

How else do you think they plan to make their trickle up poverty the law of the land.

Sirius stock is trading below a buck. If Obama wins, I may be investing in it.

Forget that. They'd better get ready to fight for the First Amendment.

Odinga Hussein Obama will probably go after Free Republic and Drudge as well.

The disgusting part is that America will basically be forced into silence under this fascist POS Obama.

Anyone like the film, "Red Dawn?"

That's the kind of stuff I foresee if Odinga wins next week.

Yep, satellite/internet will become the "new" shortwave.

This ‘Fairness Doctrine’, if it were to be reinstated, will generate a lawsuit, whereas the SCOTUS will strike it down as unconstitutional, as it should.

Limbaugh is far too popular to be hushed.

If the fairness doctrine is enacted. It will be heavily challenged.

If it remains, it will be difficult to enforce.

If enforced, it will be abused.

If it somehow forces Limbaugh off the air, he will move to the internet. And if that is somehow silenced, Limbaugh can alway broadcast by shortwave radio from the Bahamas.

And with each attempt to silence conservatism, the left will only strengthen our resolve. Obama is not big enough.

It’s the way of the left.

They have to silence opposing speech because their ideology has been proven to be logically indefensible.

Yup..satellite..smaller audience though.

I wonder what percent of Rush listeners tune in via the Internet ..have to pay ..but....

Kucinich was on Fox this AM. He looked like the gestapo at the crematoriums. I’m sure he wants to march us to inner city for slaughter.

Yep, illegally closing businesses that oppose That One. Not a freakin surprise at all.

I think 0bama is going to make us long for the “good old days” under Clinton, when this stuff wasn’t even joked about. (This is not to say I even remotely liked clinton, btw)

If that were to happen, it is my opinion that there would an enormous deafening outcry from millions of listeners of conservative talk radio. All those who supported the ‘fairness doctrine’ would be in the crosshairs of a public civil war which they would severely regret.

I remember all too well the Fairness Doctrine and, being a First Amendment issue, was something with which I used to be quite interested. I haven’t studied it that much of late except for the standard claim/counter-claim thing. Has anyone run across a good article that discusses this issue with some insight into what the majority of Congress thinks? Nothing too conclusory because it is pretty easy to find “yes they will” “no they won’t”. Just wondering if anyone has run across anything on the subject they find particularly interesting. Thanks!

When Chicago radio station WGN scheduled journalist Stanley Kurtz to talk about Obama’s ties to Ayers, the Obama campaign recruited 100,000 supporters to act in a cult-like manner and besiege the station with protests.

When “Joe the plumber” questioned Obama about his plan to raise taxes on small businesses, Obama supporters sought to destroy Joe and publicly embarrass him by digging through his tax files, work history, and personal life. Was this a warning to average Americans not to ask questions?

IT has already started!!!
