It would be great to see the “major” media finally pay some attention to this lawsuit.

“Even suspicion that something is fishy about this may give voters more doubts about Obama.”

Right. When fraudulent docs are produced to cover qualification, people are honor bound to not vote for such a guy. While few rats have much honor, I think dishonor should be fringe, and honor should be mainstream.

"But a filing of a Motion to Dismiss accompanied by a Motion to Extend Discovery would, typically, obviate the need to respond in that 30 day window"

Only if done within the 30 day period. They waited.

...but if it were going to damage republicans the media would be on it like white on rice.

Sadly, this doesn't always hold. Sure it would help the Republicans if the media were to carry it as big story line...but if the Republicans have to bring it up themselves, and the media pooh-poohs it...as is the typical pattern, than that is a different story.

The media is grossly unfair to the Republicans...what else is new?

I am tired of hearing about this, too. BUT, it's a pretty troubling situation when the candidate of a major political party will let something as seemingly trivial as this go on and on for months. Something’s going on with this. It might turn out to be a great big zero, how ironic, or it could be very significant. He has had ample opportunity to come up with the documentation that would be needed to get a social security card or passport.

This is one of those situations where the simplicity of settling the question makes it a story when it's not done.

This is classic Clinton handling of a situation. Deny, attack the accuser, stonewall and then when it's shown to be true after all adopt the attitude “so what?”. Personally I had enough of that BS in the year of the Clintons. I want a President whose words I don't have to parse and parse again.

I would have hope America had learned its lesson about electing people about whom controversy and accusations of serious legal problems swirl. Alas, I guess not.

I'm not sure why so many around here are willing to let this drop. It's just one more thing that might be used to convince a few more voters that our Hero beats their Zero!

They already tried to dismiss this.

On Wednesday, September 24, 2008, Obama and the DNC filed a motion to dismiss the Philip J Berg lawsuit. The judge did not grant it.

I would guess that most voters have never heard this story.

Don't be too sure. I got a voicemail from a sister, inquiring for my mother, about this story. My mother doesn't really follow politics closely, especially during football season. Another sister has been drinking union kool-aid and is a Zer0 supporter. My mother broached the subject with her and she almost blew a blood vessel.

It's viral on the net, why wouldn't a lot of people be aware of it, at least on the fringes?

I noticed that half the guys who try to paint this as fringe are really touchy about Annenberg’s reputation. One of them even tried to paint me as an anti-Muslim bigot because I want to know when Obama was baptised.

The reason you see thread after thread after thread on this topic (and prob others) is because this BB is not designed to keep hot topics at the top so they are constantly reintroduced.

Well, technicality doesn’t mean “trivial”. Unfortunately, the misuse of the word “technicality” has often bestowed upon it such an unfortunate definition. In the accurate definition it is a technicality, i.e. something that is technical which is the nature or “rules”, i.e. the FRCP. “Trivial” likely isn’t even a listed definition of technicality. So I completely agree with you in that it isn’t trivial. Also, the fact that a Motion to Dismiss and Extend was filed by O likely obviates the need for a response to the Request for Admissions (I still haven’t checked the local rules so not 100% sure). But at the risk of being technical, it is one of those technicalities that make the legal system look, well, insane from time to time.

That video is full of smears...completely true and appropriate smears...

Hey, Democrats, if you don't think its fair...THEN DON'T NOMINATE THIS KIND OF GUY!

Or how about you guys in the media: DO YOUR FRIGGEN JOB, SO THE DEMOCRATS AREN'T STUCK NOMINATING THIS KIND OF GUY.

But if you tell us we can't point out what kind of guy he really is...SHOVE IT!

If that's the way you prefer to view the board, try the 'activity' or 'comments' tabs.

But the main reason for endless reposts is folks (whether from newness or excitement or whatever) not using the search function before posting.

And/or assuming that their personal take on a given topic absolutely positively deserves its own headline.

But thanks for the input.

If it does get into the MSM

It's now been discussed by Rush, Sean, and Savage. They all claim to not be MSM even though their combined listeners are in the millions.
