Hi, Ma!
I’ll stick with “Barney Miller”. The best written ensemble police situation comedy, ever!
Jack.
And WKRP in Cincinnati should get an honorable mention here too.
Corner Gas, hm?
Looks interesting, too bad I don’t have cable.
still hate it. WKRP is another one of my favorites. I set tevo to record it on Sundays. When I wake up later to work nights, the DISH is set on the same channel and Honeymooners is on. I switch it pretty quickly.
Anyone for Bewitched ?
The other day, for some reason (boring job) I found myself trying to name the Brady Bunch. I got stuck on the second boy's name. When a co-worker helped me, we both were stumped by the mother's name, settling on Mrs. Brady. I had to check the internet later.
The first episode of "Yes, Minister" -- ie. the pilot -- is a bit slow, but in the second episode, it takes off.
The show is about the tension between elected members of Parliament and the British civil service. Thatcher liked it because it showed how the bureacracy of the civil service did everything it could to prevent change, no matter which party was in control of Parliament.
Nigel Hawthorne got his big break in show biz via this show, in which he plays Sir Humphrey Appleby, an oily and unctuous bureaucrat.

I’m not big on sitcoms—especially hate Seinfeld, Friends Old Christine, Honeymooners, Stooges, etc. I did/do like WKRP in Cincinnati, Frasier, Carol Burnett, Kate & Allie, Third Rock, Cosby and, God help me, Benson.

Hiya sweetie...a good day?
It’s cooling down so nice during the evenings now!
