In the five years of her collegiate career, spanning four universities in three states, Palin left behind few traces. Not many professors or students even remember her. (read the rest at the link)

Yes, Obama did graduate magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, which HLS says is for those whose grades are in the top 10% of the class.
Those in the top 10% after the first year are also selected for Harvard Law Review. Except for affirmative action recipients, who also make HLR.
Obama was selected for HLR, and after a long contentious meeting, was selected as President of the HLR.
Come graduation, if Obama wasn't in the top 10% of his class, he wouldn't have made magna. Having the HLR President not being magna would be awkward. My theory is that Obama was granted a social magna.
It is a lot easier to imagine that, than to imagine someone of Obama's lack of achievement prior to and after HLS making magna.
I was an adjunct instructor in a chemical engineering lab for 6 years. Taught a total of about 100 students during that time. I can recall about a half dozen faces but not a single name.
I taught my last class 4 years ago so I can imagine what it would be like to recall someone from about 20 years ago.
Obama has several years of college where nobody can seem to recall a trace.
Why isn’t that news?
She didn’t get affirmative action benefits?
Same here. When I worked as a grad instructor, I had anywhere from 80 to 100 students per semester. I can recall many faces, but damned few names. In fact, I may be able to recall two or three names...if I try.
They'd remember you as Tricky Dick?
What is the point of this example of outstanding journalism? I doubt any professor or TA remembers me from the universities and community colleges I attended. I barely remember them, I don’t see how they would remember me or almost any other student they’ve had.
She didn’t “choose [her] friends carefully: black activists, Marxist professors”, as 0bama did.
Affirmaize, affirmatize, affirmatize the presidency.
Who needs achievement when affirmatizing will do?
They treat the fact that Sarah Palin went to several universities as a mark against her--if she was "one of them" she would have gone to an elite university or college with her parents paying the tuition, but instead she was working her way through. A lot of Americans who did the same can relate to that.
Quite frankly, how many people believe that any random student (and back in SU Law School, there was no tag of "Senator" attached to his name), would leave any impression--much less a "charming" one--upon their professors? Even in law school classes, which are presumably smaller than regular undergrad classes, there must be hundreds and thousands of students who passed through those hallowed doors.
Just where are these professors, and what about Joe did they find so "charming?"
LOL! Proof that the media is in desperate mode. Great response, KalaSamy.
So,
Not only do none of my college professors remember me, I can only remember the names and/or faces of a handful of them.
The only one I remember clearly was because he was such a doofus in class one day that most of the class reported him to the department head that day and he got spanked...hard.
So what?
Well, gee, when you go to four different campi over four years...and, oh yeah, you’re working your way through all of them...you don’t have a lot of spare time to make an impression, do you? She got the paper, and that’s what ultimately matters. Well, that and what she’s done since.
That said: Columbia’s not that big of a school. I find it hard to believe that The One wouldn’t have cut more of a figure there than the extremely sparse coverage would suggest.
“not many professors or students remember her” ....
How many did she interview who were at any of the schools Gov. Palin attended 20 years ago ?
Do we know where Robin Arcarian went to school? Or if anyone there remembers her ?
You’d have thought that nonsensical articles like this would have cased when it became clear that they weren’t working.
The point was my sarcastic email to the author and the LA Times asking where is the big article on Obama’s college years ... they are constantly trashing Palin but we know absolutely nothing about Obama until he appeared on the Chicago scene.
