ABC News' Matthew Jaffe Reports: As Election Day looms just over two weeks away, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., said Saturday that with Republicans firing "vicious" and "dangerous" attacks at Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., voters are "having a difficult time" opting for the man who would become the nation's first African American president.
"Undecided people are having a difficult time just culturally making the change, making the move for the first African American president in the history of the United States of America," the Democratic vice-presidential nominee said at a San Francisco fundraiser Saturday evening. "So we need to respond. We need to respond at the moment, immediately, not wait, not hang around, not assume any of this won't stick."
"You see these vicious attacks on Barack's character," Biden told supporters. "I mean, this is dangerous stuff these guys are doing. This stuff is on the edge. It's on the edge. You know, there's some folks out there in the community nationwide that aren't as stable as others. It's a very small minority. But having these rallies where people are showing up saying, you know, the things they're saying - I don't even want to repeat them -- it's not a healthy thing."

You think:)Wonder what they are hearing.
Senator Credit Card can’t imagine why America is resisting the charms of Senator Government.
Could it be Biden is out of touch? Naaaaah. God, I can’t wait until he needs a plumber. Good luck getting an emergency plumber you jack-a$$.
Makes you wonder about what their internal polls are saying if they are already saying stupid thigns like this. People don’t like beign called racist especially if that isn’t the reason they don’t like Obama. This is a center right country so I’d imagine that any Marxist leftist who tried to run would have a problem no matter what race they were. As someone else said here “it isn’t the color of his skin, it’s the color of his politics”!
No, it’s half white, 37% Arab, 12% Black African...
It’s Chris Rock....it goes w/o sayin but I ‘spose I shoulda warn ya you..code word Yankee Doodle.
Imagine...Those whackjobs jumping up and down on the antique bed in the Lincoln bedroom.
Shhhhhhh! Don’t say Arab. The Obamacorns “debunked” that “myth” yesterday. Hussein is not an Arab. He’s Hawaiian.
Hadn’t heard that Watts turned a bit left; if so that’s a shame.
But yes, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Michael Steele...all good men.
In the end, I can see this going a few ways:
1. Leftists interpreting Powell’s “defection” as another indictment of the Bush administration — therefore a positive endorsement.
2. Leftists remembering Powell and the WMD speech, forever linking him to it and never respecting him for it — therefore a negative endorsement.
3. People interpreting this as a black voting for a black, therefore a negative endorsement.
4. Nobody really cares, therefore no impact.
So was Biden racist when he ran against him in the Primary?
Since BHO’s mother was white, doesn’t that mean he’s white? The blacks should be very fearful. Obama is a honkey in disguise.
To yourself and the other poster upthread who asserted possible problems with the internal polls....may I join your group?
Every oncit in a while there is some action or thing that sinks a candidacy. One of the more famous is the Dukasis and the tank ad. With Howard Dean it was the famous scream. Then there’s the infamous MACACA comment.
All of these contender-ending gaffes have one thing in common...the very public gaffe plays directly into the one weakness that lurks in the background of the candidate.
Dukasis, for example, was suspected of possibly being easy on our enemies, perhaps hesitant to send in the military required. When he put on those silly goggles and had a photo with him wearing a stupid grin as his head protruded, awkwardly, from the tank’s turret, it was the very picture of the public’s concern about Dukasis.
Same with the Dean scream. The public suspected Dean was a bit off-kilter but that scream, that yodel to the gods of dementia, rang that sour note that so had the public worried about Dean. As for MACACA...yes the press made a big noise about such a few sylables but let’s face it, it was a very nonsensical word and the public already was suspicious that George Allen was a bit on the dim bulb side.
The press has a lot of power, no doubt, but the press will play up anything. What makes it stick is how perfectly the candidate matches what’s got the public concerned about them, as well as the timing.
And so it is with Obama, Joe the plumber, and the three words that I think will bring down his candidacy. For Obama too made a gaffe that so perfectly fit the allegedly uncommitted public’s perception of him, that he is of a socialistic, possibly communistic bent.
And so the three words....SPREAD THE WEALTH....are going to be the undoing of Obama.
The pubbies, as John McCain did during the third debate, need to repeat these three words over and over and over and over again.
The pubs....damn they hate to get out of the tanning booth and heaven forbid that a hair on their head should move from its appointed place. But if they want to win they gotta play like the Dems.
Learn to love sound bytes and repeat them over and over like the Dems do so well.
SPREAD THE WEALTH....Obama’s MACACA.
It’s my story and I’m sticking to it. I think Obama’s campaign is worried, as well they should be.
Bear in mind I am right as often as Dick Morris and that even a stopped clock is on the mark twice a day.
Let me say that there a number of blacks that I would select over either of our two candidates. However, if two candidates are equal in all respects, it is logical to vote for the candidate you feel the most conformable with - for what ever reason.
That doesn’t make the black person voting for the black man, or the white person voting for the white man racism.
def: Racism, by its simplest definition, is the belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.
The reason whites “racists” (as Joe Biden would call them), or the other way around on the black side might vote along race lines has nothing to do with superiority. It’s not racism. It’s no different than something as simple as choosing a spouse. It’s logical to go with someone you are more comfortable with.
I frankly don’t care why people don’t vote for this socialist... As long as they don’t. He’s not what this country needs.
American voters have difficult time electing their first marxist, Joe.
idea for YouTube vid and/or McCain attack ad:
[but McCain won’t do it b/c he’s been told insistently by the Mediascum that any attempt to hold the Obama campaign accountable with be painted as racist]
Can someone combine video clips of Biden - Murtha deriding all those “racists” who don’t jump to support socialist Obama, and add in the clip of Obama sneering at all the bitter clingers who hang onto their guns and religion?
There is enough material for an awesome vid exposing the truly sinister character of the left, sneering at much of America while the Obamanation proves to be the most racist campaign in my lifetime (no rivals in national politics for that title).
Correct, voting for Michael Steele and/or Alan Keyes demonstrates that it is not the color of one’s skin that counts, but rather the character of one’s life and the compatibility of one’s ideals with the Constitution of the United States. Hussein does not cut it ...
What do you expect, Joe? We’re all just a bunch of bitter small town racists clinging to our guns and religion!
Maybe some of us don't support Obama because of the content of his character, not the color of his skin.
They are having a difficult time getting by the guy’s middle name. Please stop thinking race has anything to do with it. When any candidate uses the race card it means they are desperate and have nothing else to turn to. So, the fact that bath Obama and Biden are using the race card shows that they don’t really have a lead in the polls. Game over on election day.
The irony is that Pubs wouldn’t vote for Obama if he was Irish. The only way racism hurts Obama is if it is HIS OWN PARTY who won’t vote for a black man.
