ABC News' Matthew Jaffe Reports: As Election Day looms just over two weeks away, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., said Saturday that with Republicans firing "vicious" and "dangerous" attacks at Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., voters are "having a difficult time" opting for the man who would become the nation's first African American president.
"Undecided people are having a difficult time just culturally making the change, making the move for the first African American president in the history of the United States of America," the Democratic vice-presidential nominee said at a San Francisco fundraiser Saturday evening. "So we need to respond. We need to respond at the moment, immediately, not wait, not hang around, not assume any of this won't stick."
"You see these vicious attacks on Barack's character," Biden told supporters. "I mean, this is dangerous stuff these guys are doing. This stuff is on the edge. It's on the edge. You know, there's some folks out there in the community nationwide that aren't as stable as others. It's a very small minority. But having these rallies where people are showing up saying, you know, the things they're saying - I don't even want to repeat them -- it's not a healthy thing."

What I want to know is this:
What if Governor Palin would say in a speech today somewhere, that she hopes all the undecided voters will consider how much it would be to have a white man in office, rather than a black man???? What would that do to our ticket? Of course we know what it would do!! It would be the death of us. The media would viciously and mercilessly attack us as being racist rednecks,and Governor Palin would probably be impeached as Governor of her state. There would be riots in the streets worse than OJ’s trial ever saw.
So why does Joe Biden get away with such racist talk, and it doesn’t make the headlines on every single media outlet in the country? Why isn’t there more outrage? I thought we weren’t supposed to care about the color of their skin, but rather, look at the content of their character (to quote Martin Luther King)???? What’sup?
Double standard times one million. Sickening. I hope this statement from Biden locks it in for the GOP once and for all. I hope the vast majority will see Obama/Biden for exactly what they are.
Who cares?! They are using the race card to gin up the symphathy vote. Since 98.9% of blacks are voting for Obama who do you think is the racist here?
Joe he’s an Arab in African American clothes! The rats and alike are greasing up the racist word just in case slappy looses.
Their internals must point to a loss right now.
Ignore the racism charge, I think the key portion of this is Biden’s admission that they’re seeing undecideds not breaking the way they want.
Keep it up, Joe. See where it gets you. Hopefully, you’ll have good reason to retire from public life as early as next year. The country doesn’t need scum like you.
