Those Scouts have quite a wide variety of talents for cooking!
Those recipes are awesome, Sandy!
Thanks for all you do for our young ones!
You are welcome!
Thanks for the tip..
I’ll check it out!
That’s why we have the Iron-Scout (modeled off the Food Channel’s Iron-Chef) Cooking contest.
..and to think, they did it all in the field using cast iron Ducth Ovens, a Coleman camping stove, and charcoals.
I know!
I don’t think I could have pulled it off!
LOL
Now you see why it’s called Iron-Scout. The Judges sit in awe at what the Scouts do.
Attempting a bit of catch-up tonight.
But, no matter how my life goes on, no matter what kind of “big” problems present themselves, I know one thing:
Our TROOPS are protecting this everyday life, they are taking care of the boulders so I can concentrate on the pebbles.
THANK YOU, I CARE, AND I PRAY FOR OUR TROOPS!
Wow....now that is NOT your daddy’s scout cookout!
Those recipes rock out loud! Yum!
Prayers for your MIL to be all right.
Take care and join us when you can.
MIL had a stroke Friday night. Poor darling, can't admit to herself, or us, her loss of capability in so many areas. She is so scared - we are too.
But our love for her will find a way, and we will not allow her to give up HOPE that she can go on.
She has lost her sight and is unable to stand or move on her own...but you know what? We want her to try, try with physical therapy, try, and hope for the best.
We will not abandon her to what she has lost...we will encourage her to take what she can gain!
It is like a microcosm of our world today..giving up on hope is not the way to go..miracles happen!
She knows that she is loved, and that is the biggest part
of the healing process. That....and God’s help!
All boy prepared.
I figured that. Have they won some awards for their
efforts?
You are a sweetheart.
Yes, My MIL is loved.
But, there are many other things in this world to address, for the future.
And I understand that the Canteen is about our future, the coming generations, and their freedoms.
I want to keep the focus on the future.
They compete amongst themselves for first a prize ribbon and a piece of camping equipment for the Troop. The 3 Judges come from Restaurant Owners, Restaurant Chefs, Military Mess Sgts, or Community College Culinary Arts Instructors.
We try to honor the troops every day here...and to get to
know one another so we can support each other when it is
needed.
Great recipes from the “Iron Scouts” Sandy! *Hugs*
*HUGS*
Talked with the Mess Sgt at mid morning and with the recipes from the contest he and the other Sgt that were judges are planning on using on the serving line for the Army unit.
I Think the boys impressed them. LOL!
