I've been following me own advice from today and posting on ABC News site. I've been doing this over the last couple of weeks. I've done it long enough to notice a pattern. My posts show up for about 1 minute and then are deleted by the moderator. In other cases they are deleted immediately. My posts are not vulgar or hateful, but conservative.
I also noticed tonight that other posts that were critical of George Stephanoplous were allowed to live for less than a minute before they were deleted.
So much for first amendment rights. These aren't for us little press people, but just for the Press. (Who defines what the Press is in this Web 2.0 age). Of course this isn't censorship in the literal sense, but it's censorship in the liberal sense. ABC is seriously in the tank for the O. They are big losers this election.
They are still licensed by the government, in part, to be journalists.
You are seriously and sadly mistaken if you think that your First Amendment rights extend to a private enterprise.
They can censor you till the cows come home, but at the end of the day, they have not affected your First Amendment rights at all.
If you know that they are censoring your views, avoid them. The best way to hurt a media source is by avoiding their product.
Ignore them and watch/read/view outlets that respect your views.
bttt
No, they are licensed to broadcast. The content is whatever they want unless it is obscene.
Not to be flip, but is Mark Steyn a licensed journalist? Is Dick Morris? Is Karl Rove? Or Rush Limbaugh? Dennis Prager or Michael Medved? Deciding who get’s into the Press Club and who doesn’t, in the future of the Fairness Doctrine world, gives me a sinking feeling.
Therefore, they have a responstibility to serve the public truthfully -- and not as seditionists.
Journalism 101: the difference between news reporting and commentary.
I had this happen earlier this year - before I gave up. They would delete me right away and there’s no way to complain. I never said anything vulgar either.
This was at Jake Tapper’s Political Punch site.
They have a moral and ethical responsibility, but not a legal one. Big difference.
ABC News blogs are further left than Pravda or Mao’s Little Red Book.
Don’t worry about it. By doing so they are preaching to the choir.
They are a rotten cavity, I agree. And, along with Fox News (apparently), they are betting that Obama will win and will shower them with blessings from his munificent hand. They haven’t watched the video. The useful idiots are the first to be killed. And in a cult of personality, it is impossible to predict which of the useful idiots has lost his usefulness.
The decision to delete your posts is probably being made by someone barely out of school acting on his own. If you can find the right snail mail addressee and send a polite letter, you might get the situation corrected.
“ABC is in the tank for the Big O.”
I’m shocked, shocked! I tell you I’m shocked!
In the spirit of the law, they have a national responsibility.
But what is truth? (Laughingly turning away and returning to the Procurator's office).
I have had the same experience there as well as at the CBS site.
That’s ok... ABC is just pissed it’s on its way to the ash heap of history.
