Not the first 2, but tonight!
As one with experience in TV debate, I try to be objective about this.
Obama is on defense though the night, stuttering much more than previous, notice?
McCain went after BO much more than other way around McCain is smiling, relaxed, while O is nervous
ABC & CBS both had focus groups, and I was happy to see in both groups, one lean more towards O, but 3 more McCain! McCain is rebutting EVERY point brought up, an improvement
McCain score points on Education (not throwing more $, vouchers), Health Care, (Mandate vs choice), tax (not spreading around wealth, class warfare, we #2 corporate tax, no one should pay more taxes now), oil drill hes opposed, notice Obamas eloquence,we could LOOK AT drilling. That was funny!), programs you will cut (Obama bombed out! McCain point out Os pork)
Best McCain's lines /moments
"I am not Bush, ..you should have run against him Smart! He said he was going to debate me in town hall, any time , O spent MORE $ in negative Ads than anyone..I can prove it!
Your point of standing up against your (Demorat) leader isnt very convincing!
He gave $830,000 to ACORN, he had political party ay Ayers home facts are facts. Record is record! Biden got weird policy ideas. Voted against Gulf war, want divide up Iraq
Notice O talk about government , spending, why do we always have to spend MORE $? Runaway spending must be brought under control! He sounds like he believes it. Os idea of raising taxes in hard times We got too MUCH government, into health care?
Obamas best moments- McCains criticism of my taxing $42,000 . Been pointed out wrong by even FOX Smart! McCain said, If we talk about economy, wed lose
McCain won argument on Columbia, abortion, on how many years you can stop our dependency on Foreign oil (7 vs 10 years)
Obamas lie- Buffet, Lugar these are people who shaped my life (What about Frank Davis, Rev. Wright?)
Missed opportunity
McCain blew it not nailing O as trainer for ACORN, teaching thugs to shake down banks.
ACORN & O had a CLOSE relationship, massive voter fraud has TAINTED this ELECTION already...
O & company caused credit mess
Ayers is just tip of the iceberg, long list of leftist pals besides Ayers
McCain should have nailed O on his pr-union vote in Illinois, stifle school improvement
McCain answered Q on VP much better than O.
From debate standpoint O make repeated mistakes in ALL 3 debates by saying, I agree with Sen. McCain
Closing statement, both did okay, but I feel McCain could have done a better job!
No knock out punch and McCain really need one, but he hits & jabs O many times, O is wobbling, I would not be surprised this will result in 2-3% increase towards McCain within 3 days.
10 year troll I guess
Thanks for posting your analysis. I saw, and bring from the debate the very same impressions you got.
McCain CLEARLY won this debate. As soon as it was over, the panel on FNC was essentially telling me I was wrong, and the Luntz focus group just piled on.
The fact is, I know what I saw. Though I have a desire to see a certain outcome, I view these things without bias as to who I think does better. Tonight McCain won. I just wish tonight’s version of McCain would have showed up for the other two debates. I thought McCain looked awful in the last debate, and didn’t win the first because the financial “crisis” diluted the foreign policy matters that night.
Whomever would have thought McCain’s best debate would have been the one on domestic policy....
BUMP
That’s great. Did you design that? You should forward it to the McCain campaign.
“Are you serious?! Whatever McCain’s failings, and there are many, Obama is downright dangerous - And even more so with a Pelosi House and Reid Senate.”
No one who refers to McCain as “McSame” is a conservative.
That’s Kos/Dummy/Huffington speak. I think we have a troll.
BO exudes lots of things (arrogance, snobbery, lack of experience, lack of knowledge, and maybe even perceived power)!
What are you talking about? 0bama was stuttering like an untuned Studebaker. He was on the defensive the whole time practically. He got red in the face early on, and kept giving that "I can't believe I'm getting nailed on this" grin throughout the first half of the debate. 0bama was anything but a "cool cat", and Joe Blow watching at home, who picks up on subtle body language hints from the TV the same way he does around the water cooler at work, saw this.
She is FR’s token moonbat
McCain missed a chance to nail him on judges. Obama said he would have no litmus test but then went on to say judges should decide cases on feeling rather than constitutionality. There are lots of examples of judges undermining the will of the people for less than constitutional reasons.
wishful thinking.
yes, mccain did a good job, but it was not the right job. the entire message is wrong. if people want change, they are going to vote for obama. he’s radical change, but with their home values and retirement in the toilet, that’s the kind of change people think we need.
if mccain campaign was clever, he would have attacked obama up front on the issues that matter most. he would have said that obama’s position on trade is exactly what sent the US into the last great depression - that’s not change we need. he have said that obama’s tax position is exactly what led to the malaise of the 1970’s - again change we don’t need. he would have said that obama wants to take your guns away - farther left than hillary clinton.
unless mccain explains in soundbites why obama will be a disaster, he can’t win because people don’t trust the GOP any more.
but instead mccain lamely went after obama on ayers, on health care (not a winning issue for GOP) on school vouchers....
it’s pretty depressing to see this shaping up as the worst election for the GOP since 1972.
Stop it Mom, you're killin' me! LOL!! Obama "excudes power" like a 9 year old that's just been caught with a girlie magazine in his dresser.
Obamas cool-cat demeanour exudes power.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I see by your definition smirking, talking in circles, addressing your opponent by his first name and generally acting like a goofball constitute “cool-cat demeanor”, you are such an obvious troll you are pitiful. Obama is by far the least qualified candidate to ever be nominated by a major party, he is a puppet for forces intent on destroying this nation and if he is elected even you will wind up wishing you could have G.W. Bush back in office.
lowercase only in the kingdom of zion? how hip!

I thought McCain destroyed Obama in the foreign policy part of the first debate, but yeah - he was slow out of the gate on the financial crisis and that diluted the effect.
I was dreading this one tonight, but I thought overall it was his best performance.
Excluding Saddleback, of course.
Obama was exuding something, but it wasn’t power. It was BS!
I didn’t watch it, but it sounds like he nailed it hard. I’m glad to see McCain tarred O with Acorn and Ayers.
Acorn and Ayers are sticking.
Perfect!!
McCains best shot all night was a slip of the tongue when he call B.O. "Senator government!" I just LMAO!!!
I thought that this was McCain’s best effort yet. He’s finally introduced the Bill Ayers/Obama relationship to a National audience. Most people still had no clue about the issue. I believe it’s a dealbreaker for a lot of voters.
