Ive never sat in the first-class section of an airplane. But I still hold out the hope that someday Ill get on the plane and the flight attendant will stop me and say, Come with me. I have a special seat for you.
Thats why I was pretty excited when a friend gave my sister some tickets for an event and we realized that they were for box seats. Instead of sitting shoulder to shoulder with strangers all around us, we sat in a private compartment where we could see and hear everything perfectly. That evening, we felt privileged and special.
Remember Jesus friends, Mary and Martha? Although Martha had the opportunity to enjoy having Jesus as her guest, she soon became frustrated with her sister Mary and overwhelmed with the busyness of her preparations. Certainly understandable to a lot of us! Jesus made it clear to her, however, that sometimes its necessary to step away from the unending pressures of life and spend undistracted time with Him. God has given us the opportunity to have personal moments with Him. By taking the time just to be with the Lord, we are fed, refreshed, and renewed.
Jesus commended Mary for taking time to sit and learn at her Saviors feet (Luke 10:42). As it turned outshe had the best seat in the house!
never heard of that car before.
1994 Ford Probe. Cured me of EVER buying another Ford.
It was voted one of the 10 worst cars of all time:
1973 Chevy Vega. It had the aluminum engine block, but with a steel oil pan. Because of the difference in expansion rates of steel and aluminum, the pan never seated properly and it leaked oil like a sieve. I swear I had to use 2 cycle fuel-oil mix. The body started rusting almost from the moment my brother drove it off the car lot. Then I inherited it. Oh yeah, it had a air conditioner on the crummy 4 cylinder engine. If you ran the air and came to a stop light, you had to give it gas or it would kill the engine. That piece of junk has long since returned to the soil from whence it came.
The next car was the one I wish I still had. 1973 Ford Mustang Mach I with a 351 Cleveland. That car would FLY. Unfortunately, on June 23 1984 after watching the game at Wrigley Field that put Ryne Sandberg in the Hall of Fame, I went back to my friends apartment on Lake Shore Drive and the car was gone. Not much fun reporting a car theft to Chicago PD after an extra inning Cub game, if you know what I mean. (”You sure you left your car here buddy? All these streets look the same...”)
I bought a used Pacer in 1979. It was fun to drive, but it was junk. Door handles came off in my hand. The ceiling liner fell on my head. It rusted through. It was three years old when I got it.
The last real Mustang was produced in 1973. The Mustang II, from 1974 to 1980, was junk. No power, no nothing.
Without a doubt, an ‘84 Ford Bronco II.
worst POS of my lifetime!
Now, I’ll stick with my Porsches.
Gee...
I’ve never owned a Car
Only Trucks
and a few Motorcycles
My Wife however has had many Cars
But no Clunkers
1985 Ford Ranger XL pick-up.
Manual transmission, no A/C.
Had problems with the brakes early on then had countless
breakdowns after 170k miles, mostly due to a bad
something-or-other in the electrical system.
Was notified of a class action suit involving thousands of Fords with the same problem I had but I’d long since rid myself of the vehicle.
I was a teenager then, oil changes every thousand or so miles, constantly adding cleansers, polishing every hose and belt... I'm sure most cars would last a lot longer if normal people had the time to put into it. I think I spent $5 or $6 grand on the stereo alone.. (yea, I was nuts, but working at car stereo shops put me through college).
Then there was the episode of the Firestone steel Radial 500 tires. I drove from florida to San Antonio Texas while in the Air Force and the Tread on the tires began to separate while I was en-route there.Fortunately for me the tires were replaced but what an inconvenience that was.
The the Air Conditioning compressor failed within a 18 months.
Last problem was there were exposed welds on the vehicle that the Salty Florida atmosphere just ate up.Within two years of having that car I decided enough was enough and I got rid of that bomb in a hurry.
** ...from 1974 to 1980, was junk. No power, no nothing.**
Most American cars in this timeframe weren’t the greatests.
Had 1976 Pinto Pony... couldn’t go up any hill, had no traction in ANY weather other than sunshine. The worst car became my Favorite car, when during a weekend of drinking, we apparently pulled the little 4 squirrel engine, and replaced it with a V8 289 from a Mustang. Traction Fixed, Hill Problems fixed.. and it would keep up with ANYTHING.
Worst Automobile?
My Oldsmobile Achieva ... without question. I had to replace the alternator SIX TIMES .... and never could get the electrical system to work correctly.
(But I love my current car .... a Ford Mustang in screaming yellow!)
