CLEVELAND - A man at the center of a voter-registration scandal told The Post yesterday he was given cash and cigarettes by aggressive ACORN activists in exchange for registering an astonishing 72 times, in apparent violation of Ohio laws.
"Sometimes, they come up and bribe me with a cigarette, or they'll give me a dollar to sign up," said Freddie Johnson, 19, who filled out 72 separate voter-registration cards over an 18-month period at the behest of the left-leaning Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
"The ACORN people are everywhere, looking to sign people up. I tell them I am already registered. The girl said, 'You are?' I say, 'Yup,' and then they say, 'Can you just sign up again?' " he said.
Johnson used the same information on all of his registration cards, and officials say they usually catch and toss out duplicate registrations. But the practice sparks fear that some multiple registrants could provide different information and vote more than once by absentee ballot.
ACORN is under investigation in Ohio and at least eight other states - including Missouri, where the FBI said it's planning to look into potential voter fraud - for over-the-top efforts to get as many names as possible on the voter rolls regardless of whether a person is registered or eligible

He doesn't even need to show up to vote. No ID is required.
Anybody can vote for him using his "name" - even a crooked precinct worker after poll closing time or when nobody is looking (like with the hanging chads in Florida).
This happens all the time in Dem cities like Detoilet, Philtydelpia, Screw Louis, Newjerk, Graftden, etc.
I'm dumbstruck. I think they're phrasing it like this to contain the damage, like by planting the idea that maybe this guy and the people involved didn't KNOW this was wrong, but they end up sounding like "This is a very arcane area of the law, but our best research shows that one is allowed to register no more than 68 times, so this guy should get a ticket or something for doing so 72 times."
BTT!
No, but he will probably bum a smoke from him.
Very good!............Did you do that?.............
Allegedly.
yep - I love a photoshop challenge ;)
Wouldn’t surprise me.
Who is the old guy running with her?
Oh, yeah, we have some really important ones:
Can't smoke in bars
No casinos
Payday lending about to be banned
Ethnic intimidation laws against Christians speaking out against homos
Yep. We've got our priorities straight.

Dishonesty attracts the dishonest. Some of those paid ACORN "volunteers" are probably just trying to meet their daily quota for registrations. They likely don't care if the dude votes, or how many times. They are in it for the money not the ideology. Dupes.
Hasn’t this 19 y/o committed fraud himself?????
How about arresting him and giving him a little time in the tank to think over his mistake?
LOL!! Saved for posteriority.
If it were not for voter fraud, the Democrats would have been thrown out of office long ago.
As far as I know, there is no RICO case against ACORN pending; merely a handful of tiny, unimportant prosecutions from time to time (e.g., four fraudulent registrations, prosecute the individual involved, no enterprise liability).
This is Democrat Party Voter Fraud... I hope the Feds nail everyone involved. I’m tired of elections being stolen.
I live in King County, WA State, and I remember he last Governors election... :(
