PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE #2 LIVE THREAD
10/07/08
Posted on 10/07/2008 2:01:24 PM PDT by TornadoAlley3
While the two presidential candidates, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, prepare for their second debate on Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tom Brokaw gets to sift through questions submitted by you. In addition to queries from a group randomly selected by the Gallup organization, Brokaw will be fielding questions submitted online at mydebates.org, the site created by the Commission on Presidential Debates and Myspace. The focus of the town hall-style debate will be domestic and foreign policy, Brokaw's specialties.

"I’m trying to figure what kind of economic adviser he could have who would suggest we buy up and rewrite everyone’s mortgage. I’m having a hard time figuring out who would own up to it: it sounds too much like McCain himself to me." C'mon, you know the truth. He thought that BS up on the cab ride over there. His populist random idea generator is hit or miss, you either get brilliant, such as the Palin pick, or asinine, such as throwing another few hundred billion down our multi-trillion dollar economic hole.

I’m not impressed with either in this debate. Obama is lying through his teeth and slamming Bush whenever he can. McCain is trying to be a moderate, reaching across the aisle, bipartisan. I’m sick of this. McCain needs to up the ante on Obama, but let’s face it, he’s not Palin. He won’t have the same fire that Palin has.

Yes but he should have emphasized Obama’s approach is socialism...we can only do all three if we don’t approach them in a socialistic way.

"attract undecideds, who are thoughtful and looking past the slick and prepared answers for real substance" I disagree. The idea is to attract the undecideds, but they are not thoughtful or looking for real substance. If they were, they'd have decided already.
They want bread and circuses. I say give them Sarah. Package that up in dime bags and drop it on every street corner. They'll show up stoned to the polling booth; stoned on Palin.
Bugger substance. Obambi is substance free, and look where that got him!

I think someone needs to come up with a good edward scissorhands pic of Obama with scalpels.
OR some other horror character wielding a large scalpel or two.

Bingo — not intelligent at all is right. These are people that never supported McCain and most didn’t support Bush until the Florida fiasco happened.

all you wankers that voted for Mac in the primaries can kiss my ass...look where we are now, ya’ll all thought the media would go soft on old buddy Mac and that he could triangulate as a moderate
only bright side in this is Palin is now positioned to lead after the upcoming 4 years of a soon to come leftist hell like wwe have never seen before and the most feeble SCOTUS judges are the leftist ones....Stevens and Ginsburg

My God - Im not sure Ive heard McCain talk more than 2-3 times for very short times It would help if he didn't just keep repeating himself and wandering from a crisp, sharp, energetic delivery.
Even though he runs overtime, it doesn't leave much of an impact.
