The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Barack Obama attracting 52% of the vote while John McCain earns 44%. This is the highest level of support ever recorded for Obama and is his largest lead of the year. It also continues a remarkable twenty-five days in a row where the Democrat’s support has never declined by even a single point. The Democratic candidate has gained six full percentage points of support since Lehman Brothers collapsed to start the Wall Street mess ...

It looks like the public school systems have finally accomplished their goal of dumbing down America to the point they would vote for a Marxist.

I said last week that they took over the public schools, the colleges, give free money to the stupids, took control of the court system, control the Lamestream media, control hollyweird and make movies that kids see and believe, have the rock, hip hop, gangster type music scene sewed up, control the print media, and that is how they have grown. JUST LIKE A CANCER, they came in and started slowly and moved through the body of America and infected it with GOVERNMENT IS YOUR NANNY and the people bought into it. I said a lot of times earlier, that conservatives were the largest minority in this country and getting smaller by the day. The stupids and liberals and illegals out number us. The stupid republicans stood to the side and let the Marxists do it. They KNEW they could not win a shooting war with us, so they attacked in this way and they are winning. By the time that people realize the stupidity of their decisions, the Marxists in full power will have changed enough of the important laws to make their power total. They will out law guns, enlarge the supreme court and add a few liberals to have a majority, cut down the military, and enlarge their give away programs to the stupids to keep them happy enough. The rest of us will simply foot the bill for it all. Even if we win the election this time, I only see the problem getting worse. The stupid republicans have let the Marxists blame THEM for a Marxist stupidity mistake and HAVE DONE NOTHING to refute it. The public sees the Marxists blaming and the republicans not denying it, so they believe the evil corporations and republicans did it. Stupid is that stupid does and that is the motto of the republicans party, like Stick head up butt and be totally blind. The republican party in action.

Agreed. I find it curious that WaPost poll, says Obamarama is only getting 72% of Hillary voters, McCain leads white women, and Independents by 3, and somehow he is behind by 6+.

OK, so FDR and Nixon. Out of how many elections in that time?

My point is, you're going against the odds to mount a comeback. Look at the recent past. Edwards, Lieberman, Kemp, Quayle, Bentsen, Ferraro, Mondale, etc. Not a lot to write home about.

You said it right there... all this day in and day out of bad economic news is to the advantage of Obama. I don’t care how good Palin or McCain is, consistantly hearing that drum beat of bad news on the economy is drowning out everything else.

How bizarre. Remember polls are if the vote is held today. He won’t take you up on your challenge, because he doesn’t know how people will vote on Nov. 4. But the trends, well......

So, the current trouble will be blamed on Bush, and by extension on McCain.

McCain went along with the fat cat bailout bill with the rest of the political hacks. He had a perfect opportunity to distinguish himself as a leader and he blew it. His vote is seen no differently than Barney Frank's.

I think the worst is yet to come. I remember the Keating 5 scandal and it wasn't pretty. McCain was not charged with a crime but was found to have "poor judgment". The facts of the case and McCain's involvement, along with the Democrat crooks, was shameful. McCain avoided sanctions because the Senate said it happened when he was a member of the House and the House said they didn't have jurisdiction because he was now a Senator. He skated but the scandal was real. Get ready.

If Obama is winning by eight points then that means he’s doing better than every Democrat who ran for the presidency since FDR, with the exception of LBJ in 1964.

He's not, but he could be 5 points ahead at this time. Then again, didn't LBJ run against a Senator from Arizona, too?

You’re absolutely correct. Most “mainstream” conservatives seem convinced that the demographic make-up of the country doesn’t make any difference, but of course it does. Conservatism as we understand it is indeed a rebellious white/Euro phenomenon. With the country ceasing to be majority white/Euro, and with the white population being neutered by a political correctness which requires them to constantly defer to others, the fate of the nation is sealed.

This doesn’t mean that individual minority group members can’t or won’t be conservative. But collectively they never will be. All one has to do is look at California to see that this is true.

East Asia is the future center of world economic and political power, I’m afraid. The West is committing suicide.

I have not taken part in a poll in the last 20 years, even though my phone rings off the hook with pollsters who call me. I don't think I'm the only one...
Ignore the polls. No matter what they say, show up and vote. Enjoy the shock and horror on the MSM’s faces the day after the election. If Obama’s minions think they are going to win by a landslide, millions of them might find something more fun to do on election day than stand in line with a bunch of people they don't know, just to vote. I would recommend not voting before election day even if your local precinct allows it. I know it's against the law to release any voting results early, but the vast majority of polling precincts are run by Democrats.

Could you point me to a link that shows the 2006 midterms with a 3 point party ID weighting for the Rats? I looked at the numbers and they were: For the House: Summary of the November 7, 2006 U.S. House election results: Party Seats Popular Vote 2006 +/− % Vote % +/− Democratic Party 233 +31 53.6% 39,673,226 52.0% +5.4% Republican Party 202 −30 46.4% 34,748,277 45.6% –3.6% Independents 1 0 −1 0 501,632 0.7% +0.1% Others 0 0 0 0 1,305,803 1.7% –1.9% Total 435 435 0 100.0% 76,228,938 100.0% 0 So, according to the data Democrats won the popular vote 52% to 45.6%, which is a 5.4% spread. For the Senate: Summary of the November 7, 2006 U.S. Senate election results: Party Breakdown Total Seats Popular Vote Up Elected Not Up 2006 +/− Vote % Democratic Party 17 22 27 44 49 +5 33,134,651 53.8% Republican Party 15 9 40 55 49 −6 26,127,486 42.4% Independents 1 2 0 1 2 +1 878,486 1.4% Libertarian Party 0 0 0 0 0 0 600,991 1.0% Green Party 0 0 0 0 0 0 402,800 0.7% Others 0 0 0 0 0 0 408,335 0.7% Total 33 33 67 100 100 0 61,552,749 100.0% In terms of Senate voting the Rats bested Republicans 53.8% to 42.4%. The advantage there was 9.4%. So, House voting showed a 5.4% Democratic advantage, Senate voting showed a 9.4% Democratic advantage. I am not sure where you get your 3% number from, but the true numbers are more in line with the party ID weighting we have been seeing. Now, Rasmussen and the others could have it wrong this time around, perhaps they are not counting on a re-energized Republican base to the extent they should. Still, whatever one believes about the poll methodology, it is the TREND within the methodology that bears watching, and the trend is not necessarily going our way at this point. Gallup's tracker at 1 PM will give another data point, but don't be surprised if that hasn't moved towards McCain, either.

McCain had it in his power to win in a landslide. All he had to do was act like a conservative and reject the bailout bullshit. Now, he’s screwed.

Well....

You’ll notice that Rasmussen has yet again increase his Dem turnout gap this week. Again.

Like with most polls we’ve seen, if turnout is more traditionally even - the polls are tied.

Are we still going to believe the polls when Obama hits 60%?
