While walking the dog this morning, side arm open carry, I noticed a car tracking me and the man driving the car was on a cell phone looking all upset. I tried not to make eye contact with the man and just kept walking.
I turned into the floodway park and let the dog run free for about ten minutes and noticed the car was still there and the man was still on the phone. I came out of the floodway and on the way back to the street I noticed two Gilbert policemen--one a supervisor, and Concerned Citizen (Out of Towner by his license plate-NJ) looking at me. Damn I must be good looking-or maybe it was the dog. As I hit the sidewalk I said "good morning" generically and kept walking towards the house. The two policemen said Good Morning and Out of Towner-Concerned Citizen mentioned that we people were nuts. About 5/10 minutes later the Lieutenant came by the house to make sure I wasn't uspset or bothered by this. Very polite young man.
Perhaps people in New Jersey don't walk their dogs.
No wonder they are scared to death of their neighbors having guns.
We have open carry in NH.
Once in a while a town constable will try to assert himself. All that’s needed to end the confrontation is to ask him what law is being broken.
Interesting. I wish I could do that in Texas.
This is very good-—I wish to see it repeated all over the country.
If you had been hiding the gun in baggy pants falling down around your knees, I’m sure they would have felt more at ease.
Other than Security Guards and police, only the Crips, Bloods and Mafia can carry in the open in New Jersey.
The problem is that guys like this will move to your state and try to change the gun laws to please themselves.
"Dog? If you must. Gun? Haven't read my Constitution lately."
You have to kinda forgive those that live behind the iron curtain of the northeast.
The fact that people in the free states actually exercise their constitutional rights can come as quite a shock.
Your dog was carrying a sidearm? Maybe that’s why the person became alarmed.
Open carry is legal in Texas ONLY for shotguns and rifles.....long guns. But, everone can...no license needed.
What exactly is “open” carry?
Openly carrying a firearm. We have it in NM too. Just put the holster on, in plain view and away you go.
k thx bai

I didn’t even need to do that much... I became the town hero when I beat the reckless driving thing in court, where I convinced the judge that the guy didn’t have any arrest powers.
Maybe I should move to Arizona! Nicely done! Even more nicely done by the LT.

Something about that photo just struck me as very funny.
I think I may have to start referring to the little o as “Fifi.”
Yes I am aware of long guns. Its really not safe to go on a nice ‘brisk’ walk with a dog on a leash and a shotgun.
