The conservative stars are in it & as I was on the way to the movie I heard an interview by Kelsey Grammer by Michael Medved. The obvious question from Michael
I don’t care for excessive swearing and obscenity in films anymore either, but what was the context of the kids swearing/obscenity? Is it a commentary on how spoiled and uncultured our kids have become? Crude for the sake of poignancy?
They're not showing it anywhere here either.
Unbelievable. I guess the left runs the theater’s now also. They won't show this movie but when Fahrenheit 9/11 came out it was EVERYWHERE.
Too bad about the scene(s) with the kids that you mention. I was waiting to see if it was safe to bring my kids to see it. There’d have been 2 more tickets purchased if it had been in line with the adult content of Naked Gun 33 1/3.
The chanting peacenicks, Hitler/Mussolini/Tojo singing Kumbaya to PM Chamberlain while he shined their shoes, zombie ACLU lawyers, and forensic analysis of Michael Moore's Malone's butt were hilarious.
Highly recommend the film. It was fun to sit in a theater full of strangers who laughed at the lefty morons.
I didn’t think the trailers which usually feature the funniest bits...were funny at all. Which sucks, because there’s no point making a right wing satire if it misses the mark. They should have gotten the south park guys to do this.
Regardless of a couple of curse words and a gesture, young children would not appreciate the double entendres and parodies. When adults are laughing, young ones would repeatedly be asking “why?”
Just read the NYTimes review: short and dismissive.
(I just ordered in on Netflix)
Everyone..
I am sorry for the botched up thread here. 95% of the opening was removed. I posted much back in the thread & it was removed.
NOthing there was AP
Maybe Michael moore is a mod???
lol
It is as it should be at another forum with link posted up in thread
Hi.. NN. I rarely view a movie thru the filter of a child’s ears & eyes but recalling my years of teaching school, there was nothing in the movie that children do not see & hear EVERYDAY in school, playgrounds, buses etc...nevermind what is on TV & the Internet
I think the Left would like all parents to keep this from their children.. just see the lib propaganda!
I think each parent needs to analyze their child (dren) and decide if they are up to it. Going with them to a movie & then to eat & discussing the favorite parts, unfavorite parts, scary parts & what y you didn’t understand is helpful
When my son was a youngster I took him to a lot of movies & the talk times after movies was a wonderful opportunity to talk about values & life.
Good points all. As an aside, we saw Craig Ferguson in concert a few weeks ago. His warm-up act was a fellow who used the F-word with every breath, and lots of gestures, etc. A father with two young boys were sitting directly in front of us. I cringed for them a few times.
How did this get out of HollyWhacked?? You know that bastion of Free Speech.
Pray for W, McCain and Our Troops
We went to see it yesterday and enjoyed it...in the heart of doomed democrap controlled Buffalo——simplistic and somewhat silly but mainly such a refreshing moment away for the leftist garbage we get 24-7. (about 50 people watching)
I really laughed at the “undead” - the ACLU lawyers-—loved Dennis Hopper as the judge.
The portrayal of Washington done by Voight was stellar...eerily accurate—although nobody today really knows what he was like in the flesh.
I’m buying a ticket today, although I won’t watch it until it releases on DVD. Support this movie THIS WEEKEND.
Zucker says if the first weekend is down, it’s bad news.
Going to see another movie tomorrow after church (I go to church in a Cinemark theater!) BUT might just get the tickets for American Carol..
I recall when people were curious about Farenheit 911.. they bought tickets to OTHER movies & then did not enrich MM’s pockets or have the count higher
Unethical probably and we of course KNOW the left would NEVER do anything like this, dont we?
Oops. That was “Lesforlife” who posted it. Sorry.
Agree.
“I dont care for excessive swearing and obscenity in films anymore either, but what was the context of the kids swearing/obscenity? Is it a commentary on how spoiled and uncultured our kids have become? Crude for the sake of poignancy?”
Good questions. I don’t know yet. I’ll know after I see the movie, of course. Lesforlife in post 23 had mentioned the obscenity.
Thanks, Dolly, I saw the trailer and laughed out loud.
I haven’t been to a movie in I can’t remember when, but this is one I don’t want to miss!
I laughed out loud at your “review”. Ha!
I love good satire. Can’t wait to see it.

Dolly, there was no dark motive in removing your first thread, nor in excerpting your second thread, nor in removing your lengthy post in this thread. All of them, your first thread, your second thread and your post in this thread, required moderator action because you had included in all the same unattributed, unlinked complete New York Times article.
As explained in the AM Freepmail I sent to you four hours ago, "all New York Times articles must be properly linked and excerpted."
When I received your response to the Admin Moderator Freepmail subject heading:
"Full text unlinked New York Times movie review; unattributed photos and articles"
received at 5:22:06 AM PDT
and after reading your response, it appeared that you understood that your thread would have to be pulled or excerpted. Your Freepmail also made it clear that you understood the reason behind the moderator action, which again was because you had posted the full text unlinked unattributed New York Times movie review, and unattributed photos and articles.
If my communication efforts with you in attempting to prevent any more copyright lawsuits against Free Republic upset you, I am sincerely sorry. That was not my intention. As volunteers, we rarely spend this much time writing Freepmails. It's much easier and less time consuming when we simply excerpt a copyright infringing thread or pull it.
Please understand that all of us volunteer moderators are Freepers just like you, only you are probably having a lot more fun than any of us. Long is the list of angry complaints about anything we do as volunteer moderators and rarely do we hear any appreciative feedback.
I am simply trying to help other Freepers, trying to help Jim and trying to help keep Free Republic operating smoothly. That's what all of us moderators are about.
And no, Dolly, Michael Moore is not a volunteer moderator back here.
Here's a linked thread which Jim Robinson posted in April 2004 which is regularly updated. The thread has a list of the publisher's websites who prohibit any of their material from being posted here on Free Republic. The thread also lists the sites who allow only an excerpt and a link to be posted here, such as the New York Times.
Updated FR Excerpt and Link Only or Deny Posting List due to Copyright Complaints
