Aloha Allegra!

If it's morning there, you're back to work.

Governor Palin did just fine. Now.....if you see contrary polls, ignore them as bias.

You’re probably counting the days again, right?

Not yet. I pushed my R&R out some so that I can go to the Monday Night Football game in Houston on December 1.

So, it's too far off to count the days yet. But with the war calmed waaaaay down, it's not as stressful here as it was before, so I can handle it. I hope when I get home in late November, we will have a President-elect McCain and a Vice President-elect Palin. :)

I'll watch the YouTube links whe the debate is over. Sarah is doing great!

I wonder if someone tomorrow is going to comment on her looking like a kid among the grownups. Personally, she sounded a like a tough, slightly sarcastic mom telling her children to do their chores.

Ha! Love it. Loving it even more the second time around.

Howdy! We're off on Fridays on this gig, so I'm relaxed in my room watching the debate replay. They re-show all of that stuff that happens in the middle of the night for us.

How are you doing?

Well .. that’s really only about 8 weeks,
wow.

Will that be the end of your incredibly
honorable time in the sandbox? And
thank you a million times for being
there for US. God bless you.

Biden shows he is the smartest guy in the room by responding to Palins notion that The left is stuck in the past, by saying with a smirk (as if to say check this out rube)

“Past is prologue, Gwen”

The smartest guy in the room

After reviewing a tape -- actually a DVD -- of the debate, I would have to give a slight edge to Biden on substance.

But on style and overall impact, Palin crushed him like a bug.

Closed captioning can by hysterical if you have a guy like Dennis Miller speaking. The court reporters have to take a break every 15 minutes. I was going to do closed captioning at one point in my life, but discovered I loved the actual courtroom setting.

The one-stroke tpugh (I think — it was a long time ago) means “if you can.” It can also mean f***. Quite a difference, eh?

I’m so proud of Gov Palin. She is such a breath of fresh air and leading up to it set the entire Country up. This is going to be a landslide thanks to Sister Sarah.

Pray for W, Palin/McCain and Our Troops

Speaking of family, I soiled my poor innocent mind going into DU to just see what the buzz was on their side, and I found a thread where they were ripping baby Trig.

Saying that he was being used as a prop, and shouldn’t have been up so late, etc. etc. That she should not bring him to speeches because he has special needs, that maybe he is just a plastic doll and not real.

It makes me so sick.

A breastfeeding baby has to stay fairly close to his Mama for his feeds, a baby that young can sleep anywhere and on anyone, and a baby with special needs probably either is not affected by the noise OR if he’s too sensitive they would have kept him out of it, I am sure. He seemed very peaceful to me.

What I find most entertaining is that so many take this election so seriously.

When they line you up against the wall like the rest of us, and put the hood over your head, maybe you will start to take it seriously.

Well, the problem with substance is that it's only valid if it's true. Can't wait for the fact-checkers to parse this one.

These debates are more about philosophy than actual numbers and policy, especially when it comes to the Veeps. In general, I think Palin came through better on that front, although I'm rather puzzled about her “two-state” solution to Israel. Unfortunately, she's hamstrung by McCain.

Thank you for your kind words.

I will probably finish up in Iraq in mid-2009.

Unless it stops being interesting before then. :) I want to be here for their elections in '09. I got to be here for the very first ones (one of the most fascinating experiences of my life), so I want to see the sequel and note the differences. I have a feeling it will be much calmer than in '05.
