Reading FR over the past 48 hours or so has been downright depressing. Yesterday I found myself snapping at my children for no other reason than my negative state of mind. The election is still a month away. I don't believe that all is lost. Polls are being manipulated and so are we!
So, what GOOD news have you heard lately? What is going on in your part of the country that gives you hope that McCain will win? What positive anecdotes can you share with all of us? Post it here. We could all use the encouragement.
There are still some good men and women in the House that won’t vote for the Pork bill
Fact is, we’re all going to be either really happy or real depressed tomorrow morning. Palin has a lot riding on her tonight.
My loverly female maid and male maid just left my house spotless.
And yes, it does cost me. Who cares?
I’m a little shaky on my optimism, of late. And if O-boy loses, I think we may hear from the Violent Minority.
I am counting my blessings that my children are healthy.
Campaign offices around the Country cannot keep a supply of McCain/Palin yard signs in stock. One County in FL has just ordered 20,000 more and other counties in FL are going to have to do the same as they have run out.
In a large Florida city they have the most volunteers ever for phone banks and more satelitte offices then during Bush-Cheney. People are volunteering for phone banks in record numbers to make calls for McCain/Palin.
In Oklahoma, our county is ordering 10,000 more signs as they went through 5,000 and another 5,000 since the Convention. States asked counties to order so they can get them direct and faster. Have talked to people from a lot of states within the last few days that have run out of signs and their GOP is ordering more.
Backorder for bumpstrips for individuals — what normally would take 4-5 days is taking a couple of weeks.
Most of us that have been involved with Presidential politics have never seen anything like it. Since the Convention, the enthusiasm is growing around the Country with number of people at events, etc. in spit of the media and polls which anyone around politics knows are junk!

My mother was driving down the street, saw a giant McCain sign over a building, went in, and signed up to volunteer.
My dad is asking me of ways he can show support... we are in VA, so it’s surely needed.
My brother, a self proclaimed moderate, has started getting fired up about the stupidity of liberals lately.

My local WalMart has regular gas for $3.21 a gallon.

My wife recently got her LTC. To celebrate, we bought 1000 rounds of 9X19 on sale!
The two hardcore dems who sit near me at work, who blame EVERYTHING on President Bush and republicans in general, both do not like Obama at all. Both were hoping Hillary would get the nomination. Since she didn’t they are both thinking of staying home on election day.
PLUS, there is another total loudmouth guy at my office who has never had an unexpressed thought especially about all things political. He has been SILENT about this upcoming election. Unprecedented for this guy. All he does now is bash the Cubs (my office is heavily leans towards the Sox).
I just farted, and I feel a lot better now.
