Reading FR over the past 48 hours or so has been downright depressing. Yesterday I found myself snapping at my children for no other reason than my negative state of mind. The election is still a month away. I don't believe that all is lost. Polls are being manipulated and so are we!
So, what GOOD news have you heard lately? What is going on in your part of the country that gives you hope that McCain will win? What positive anecdotes can you share with all of us? Post it here. We could all use the encouragement.

I thought I lost some important letters before Rosh Hashanah, which would have entailed cancelling my credit card & checking account. They turned up today.

I just looked at our business financials for the first 3 quarters and we are up 13% Y-T-D over last year. Additionally, 3 individual months this year are records for the past 16 years. Just hitting 5 year averages during the last quarter - our biggest sales period - we should be up around 125% of last year. More people spending money and larger transactions when they buy. Depression? Yawn.

My liberal, uninformed friend told me this morning that she actually thought that maybe the press was biased towards Obama and that might be a “little scary”. It just dawned on her.
Maybe eyes are beginning to open. thats a bit of good news...for me, anyway.

The gal who just read me my horoscope predicted that I was going to be shot by a jealous husband on Nov. 5...How cool is that?
I get to vote Republican and get lucky at the same time before I die.........

I moved to NC from Northern Virginia. I couldn’t be happier and in no small part because my vote actually counts.

My brother and Sister in-laws who are both hard core dems, are visiting Orlando in November instead of voting. Maybe they are going to vote absentee? I already sent in my card for a ballot.

Oh, I bet I do. When I was a younger man (and still had most of my hair), I had an entirely deserved reputation as being a ‘”ladies man”. A significant reason for my failure to “settle down” until after I was 30 was the fact that many of the objects of my affections turned out to be brain-dead (but body-rich) liberals. I had a lot of fun... but I didn’t have a life.

This afternoon I was shopping in the mall wearing my McCain/Palin pin. A Korean saleslady gave me a big thumbs up and went on a huge rant about the stupid people who are mindlessly voting for Obama and how Mitt “Lomley” was her man but she’s a conservative and voting for McCain. She told me to stay away from MSNBC and NBC and the woman went on and on and followed me out of the department still talking!! Oh, her favorite talk show host is “Mark Revin”. LOL I gave her two McCain/Palin bumper stickers, and it made her day.

My mother survived a fifteen and a half hour cancer surgery. I managed to not flunk nursing school while going back and forth from PA to NY to take care of her.
I was able to pay my bills for a chance since starting nursing school.
My breast lumps are benign.
And I’ve lost weight.
