Congressional Black Caucus vote
vanity

Posted on 09/29/2008 8:00:02 PM PDT by SonOfDakota

My quick tally of 39 CBC'ers voting today:

18 Y

21 N (Conyers/Lewis/Cummings/A Green/J Jackson/Jackson-Lee/Jefferson/etc)

Just heard Mr Newt comment (FNN/Greta) on his fear that the bill will now be revised to the left to ensure its passage. Ya think?

The BAILOUT wasn’t selling with Americans - no wonder they voted NO.

One local black congressman blamed his no vote on how he wouldn’t believe anything Bush has to say.

Well, I think they voted No because they want ACORN put back in.

The CBC gets a LOT of its campaign donations from the bad loan industry, and what would Community Organizers do without all that funding?

Yes, but if the Republicans are smart, those in favor on the first vote will pull back to NO positions and leave the Dems to pass the stinker on their own.

Yep, that's why they were trying to setup the Republicans for the fall.

A shift to the left on the bill would result in Republicans voting no, as well as blue dog rats. Again, the bill would be defeated and would further energize the base. Of course 0bama would tout the piece of crap, and McCain would come strongly against it.

That'll just cost more GOP votes. The GOP should try and ram through the insurance deal first; I bet there are enough chicken Dem votes to get it going.

If that's the case, then it's more reason to fight this boondoggle. It helps NO ONE, least of all the taxpayers who can ill afford to pay for it!

That's a laugh....and he thinks that will get more votes?

Pelosi told her libs that are up for re-election to vote no so they could go home and get re-elected. She made some kind of deal to get most of the Reps to vote yes, but then blew it with her stupid remarks just before the vote and p*ssed them off so they voted no.

Going more left isn't gonna help, especially before the election, and the Reps sure aren't gonna vote for it.

“21 N (Conyers/Lewis/Cummings/A Green/J Jackson/Jackson-Lee/Jefferson/etc)”

There were 21 Black “NO’s” because ACORN Funds (+$ 20 Billion) were cut out of this version. By Thursday, it'll be back in!!!!

Yeppers...... Pelosi was complaining about poor Republican leadership on the vote and, she, the Madam of the House (of prostitution), couldn't even get her usual "field hands", ie, Jackson-Lee, Conyers, et al, to vote for it.

And, Barney Franks statement was too funny (and true). What did he say ....something like "let me take those 12 Republicans into a nice quiet and dark room to talk and be nice to them and I can change their minds"? That would be right up Barney's alley. (Can you spell O-R-A-L S-E-X ?)

::::::::::::::
Point well made — the CBC, on total, has been nothing but a self-serving, trouble-making “organization”. It has never done anything positive for America as a whole. Very similar to the Progressive Caucus that Pelosi is so “familiar” with....
