The cable news networks are standing by for a press conference by House Republicans on the bailout bill. It should start some time after 6:30 p.m. EDT.
..take your pick
WHEN WILL THIS BATTLE BEGIN?
————————————>
When the Republicans come of through the Chamber doors and say “NO COMMENT”
I agree. As long as they are taking in that meeting, I am hoping they are about to pull a fast one on those arrogant, lying dems. This bill stinks, big time. It seems like socialism is about to take over. Paulson is former GS, a dem, and I do not trust him. He has Bush really scared. If he is so smart, how come he didn’t light a fire under Bush before it was too late? Obama also took a ton of cash from GS, and they apparently fed him info from Paulson’s people ahead of the cabinet mtg/ambush. All these Dems are up to the eyeballs in Fannie/Freddie, and the Republicans are getting the blame for it. I just noticed on the burning down the house video that Blunt is near the top of the list of folks who took money from Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. Is this the same Blunt who is negotiating for the House Republicans? If so, that is cause for even more concern. I think if the Republicans vote for this, McCain/Palin is doomed. I think we are about to get completely screwed on so many levles. I’m normally not a pessimist, but this one really worries me.
“And Why is March 14, 2008 a significant date?
Bear Stearns payoff.”
Wow. I googled that.
Was Bear Stearns bigger than we were led to believe?
I see no experts explaining this connection.
Any ideas?
yell ACORN at the top of their lungs!! Show the video being circulated with Barney Frank and the Black Caucus telling the Republicans they were trying to lynch Raines and then walk out!!!
Ok- that was from earlier- I know it’s dated today- but lets wait to see what the bill on the House website says...
If it still has ACORN- all hell will break loose..
How is that going to get obama elected? Why shove a bill down our throats so quickly?
Why dont all these “big bankers” and money makers get together and decide how to get THEMSELVES out of their own mess?
If they needed to borrow money from the govermnent, then fine....with interest.
Mistress X??? I’m not a lesbian, stupid.
I like!
Britt Hume just laid out the argument McCain should have used tying Obama to Fannie/Freddie lack of regulation. He can’t explain why McCain hasn’t used the argument, nor can we.
Calling people stupid doesn’t do a thing to promote your point of view.
If you think it should pass, say why. Have backup [you’ve not posted any].
If you really do have anything worthwhile to add, it will have to be without name-calling and with some kind of back up.
I suspect you have nothing.
Why do you think McCain’s not doing anything?
Just because he’s not jumping up and down in front of the cameras screaming “Look at me!” doesn’t mean he’s taking a nap.
When the Republicans come out through the Chamber doors and say ‘NO COMMENT’
That will give the DEMS and Obama a wedgie.
Let the DEMS vote for the $7 Trillion Dollar bailout on their own.
It will drive a lot of voters into the Republican camp come November 4th.
Flush what, the Republic?
Because that’s what tanking the economy now does, effectively. it’s not even a matter of the exact numbers anymore. Either we pass this bill or the market tanks, Obama gets elected, and brings with him a large number of new Democrat members of Congress.
That’s the stark reality. Any other belief is, simply, delusional.
The House GOP took risks to get a better bill than they would have gotten last week - but now the clock is ticking down, right into the last hour.
For God’s sake, this site started to expose the excesses and corruption of the Clintons - Obama is far worse than Clinton ever was. Several times worse, at the very least.
What a great question!
“All these Dems are up to the eyeballs in Fannie/Freddie,”
Given the March 14, 2008 connection to Bear Stearns closure,
wonder if Bear Stearns is as much or bigger concern.
The REpubs. could press the Dems on this issue.
It seems like favoritism or sorts.
If the present pressure is only Bear Stearns,
Bush was lying about how grim the situation is,
and just wants a lot of funny money to pay off funny money debit while he still is in office.
It pisses me off Democrats are claiming credit for what republicans pushed for.
That’s what i’m concerned about. The pubbies need to be unyielding on this,as well as any other “gimme”s that the rats may want to tie to this bill.
