That was pathetic. Don’t these guys realize that they can play strongarm as much as they need to in order to prevent this bill from passing, and they’ll have the support of the people?
Come on, guys. I understand you want to be politically diplomatic, but this is too important to compromise. We have a plan, we have a good plan, and we need to push OUR plan as much as it takes.

You were lucky. I had a loan with Annapolis Federal Savings. Payments were $53 a month, for a piece of land I bought. During the S&L crisis, it failed and RTC took over. I soon got a notice that I owed hundreds of dollars because I had not paid the $145/month payment for several months.
When I told them they were wrong, RTC turned over my account to a very aggressive collection agency. They got really nasty. I sent them the original contract and every cancelled check and told them that I was up-to-date and the payment was $53 not $145.
The collection agency got even nastier and told me they did not believe me and were going to foreclose.
I then called the RTC Ombudsman Office -- set up specifically to handle consumer complaints. The RTC Ombudsman called the collection agency, then called me back, and said the collection agency was really nasty and they (RTC) could not do anything.
Eventually, I wrote letters to the Attorney General of Virginia (where I live), and Arizona (where the collection agency is), claiming that the collection agency was engaging in extortion by threatening to foreclose, based on erroneous data.
That took care of the problem, but I missed a lot of work dealing with it.

So something or we’re in a world of hurt? You want your hurt now or a worse hurt later. Your kids and grandkids will suffer for this and a long list of other atrocities committed against the productive people of this society by a non-responsive corrupt Congress.

I know these people are tired, but these guys don't look like their hearts are in this. Why the hell should they be tired? They take more damn vacations than Johnny Carson did.
No matter what happens, even if they are out of office, they get paid. We get screwed.
And why do I get the feeling that Senator McCain's lack of calling out the Democrats on his and the President's desire for reform (and the Democrats telling them to shove it) in the debate the other night led to this?
Whatever. Let the politicians air out their dirty laundry. I need to go wash mine. (literally)

I am withholding judgment on this until someone much smarter than me on economic issues (and I don’t mean an online gathering of anonymous FReepers) explains it.
If not for McCain, we would be getting something much, much, worse. I suspect many of the people screaming, “That does it, now he’s lost my vote!” never really intended to vote for him in the first place.
And with that, I bid you all good night. The football game calls me, and I must answer.

Kudlow on radio said most all of the poison was removed and that it wasnt properly pointed out that taxpayers WILL be paid back True. This bill is quite different as a result of the GOP's stance.
They've moderated it a lot. And I do think taxpayers will be paid back.
To: MOgirl
Barry will get into office with this “lesser” of two evils. The markets will “look” good until right after Barry's election.
I'm tired, and ready to give up.
