Summary of Obama's debate performance tonight: "I've got a bracelet, too."
PBS ^ | 9/26/2008 | PBS

Posted on 09/26/2008 7:20:38 PM PDT by Notwithstanding

Barack was the very junior senator on the defensive the entire evening.

After John McCain eloquently (and without notes) discussed the bracelet he wears given to him by the mom of a dead Iraq war vet.

Trying to prove his own support for the troops, Obama chimed in with a pathetic "I've got a bracelet, too," as he looked down at his notes to read the name of the soldier.

You’re right, he is a dork. Did you ever notice that the libs are always dorks, but they look down their noses at us and think they’re so much smarter. Pretty funny really. They must all be the kids that were picked on in school.

Obama may have a bracelet but he seems to be embarrassed to wear it!

You mean when they aren’t busy clinging to their guns, their religion, their narrow mindedness...

;-)

The flyover Americans (the true backbone of this country) know the truth about Ubama. Believe you me, they know. The debates will just seal it for them (us). :-)

Yeah, I have to agree. There were also issues relating to the democrats efforts to protect Fannie and Freddie back in 2005 that McCain didn’t touch on. I am hoping he was saving all of that for the debate on the economy.

Interesting isn’t that they say that, yet O said he agreed with McCain 8 times.

Not the only thing he is embarrassed to wear. He did NOT have it on when this was taken. Snagged from another thread today.

I don`t know how much hay can be made about Obama having to read the name on his bracelet. Here is a clip. It looks like McCain is reading his bracelet, too.

McCain did better on facts and substance
obama even came across as a kid who has done his homework but wasn’t sure on all the facts he had just learned where as McCAin knew the facts about the facts

obama was very rude, kept interrupting, showed how arrogant he was and came across as a child who didn’t want the other kid to speak.

Obama was getting annoyed about his non appearance too Afghanistan and especially at the beginning with the ear marks Obama has asked for

there was no way obama could have said anything different as it is so true about his ear marks and ,McCain should have played on it more

when obama said to McCain your president I nearly threw my drink at the TV
McCain should have picked up on this but let it go

I would like to know why the GOP are not using that picture in an AD as it would be damaging for him to independents

then have BO voice saying your president like he said last night

need to go after this phony stuttering fool as many people are being tricked by this phony

“McCain . . . has a great smile. In contrast, Obama has a very snarky, superior smile. I’m hoping that will make an impression on undecided viewers”

Good observation. I noticed it too. Obama isn’t the nice guy everyone says he is. Not only does he have issues, but he has an agenda too that is very left wing. But he tries to hide it by taking time to verbalize the conservative point of view. But then he takes the liberal side. It is a very manipulative tactic that he has used very effectively. It throws people off. Obama is not a nice guy at all. That smile of his says a lot. He has got a nasty side to his personality that he has been able to hide.

“Phony” was one of Truman’s favorite words. Maybe there’s a little bit of that left in Missouri, Kansas and Iowa.

I disagree. He said, "I've got a bracelet too from, uhh, the mother of, uhh, Seargeant...".

McCain was looking briefly at his bracelet multiple times to call attention to it because he can't hold up his arms very high and show the bracelet.

He recalled the soldiers name lighting quick and looking down at his bracelet likely to quickly to read it.

He knew the name by heart because it actually meant something to him.

“I am hoping he was saving all of that for the debate on the economy.”

Maybe you’re right - by now I’m SURE he’s been reminded and talked to by his staff/advisors about all those points. Just not sure if they’ll be as relevant by then as they would’ve been last night - I think the record needs to set straight ASAP about the real situation to the public, since the left/BHO has been hammering relentlessly in the last few days on all this being the republicans’ and McCain’s fault. He also should have a campaign ad made right away outlining ALL these facts vs. the lies the Dem leaders and BHO keep spouting. People need to know the truth.

How extraordinarily rude. I missed that one. That was not a classy thing to say.
