Not even the MSM is going to be able to spin or explain away the fact that Obama conceded the debate to McCain.

The more voters see rehashes of this debate, the less they like Obama. So the media strategy will be to drop it quickly ... their best move is just to show the image of both men standing as equals. Both serious.

Average ?voters? are so easily led by the media.

I agree with that. The "casual" voters who don't follow politics don't know who is lying and who is telling the straight talk(no pun intended.

To them , it's all about "style" and "feelings"

I just want to gag when I heard them talk.

Very likely unscientific........right?

I seriously can’t imagine that being a scientific poll. Even if Obama dropped his pants in the debate, McCain at 80 percent would be hard to believe.

There is always 30 percent who are idiots.

I think you’re right about that. Obama couldn’t help himself at some points, getting angry and interrupting. Viewers don’t appreciate that kind of behavior in a debate either. I think McCain, being so calm and reserved, vs. Obama stuttering and talking in circles will turn out well once it soaks into people’s heads. Tomorrow when they wake up I think they’ll be scratching their heads trying to remember what Obama stands for, and McCain’s words about Cutting Spending, and other things, will stand out clear in their memories...

Yes, he was terrible but he was tired because he had been helping the hurricane victims all day, too. Meanwhile, Lurch was getting an orange tan.

I listened as well, and thought McCain clobbered him. Go figure.

I also thought McCain was much better on substance, though he lacked precision in a lot of his answers.

I thought Obama got the edge on style points -- he did sound better than McCain did. My pont is not about who "won," but rather who seemed to be better -- and these days that seems to be a matter of style, not substance.

He is but that it is not the problem for Obanma. The problem for Obama is that the McCain campaign and or 527 groups allied with them are going to bring the Reverend of hate, racism, and anti-Americanism in TV ads and they are going to do it in a big way. They are going to tie Obama to Wright in such a way that most voters will not be able to distinguish between the two comes Elections Day.

I didn’t even think it was close on the radio. If 0 was doing all the annoying Gore-basmic stuff people on this thread are claiming, I’m not sure how anybody can think he won (I don’t put much faith in Frank Luntz, either.)

I don’t know. I was watching the debate on Fox and I don’t know about other networks, but the split screen when McCain was speaking showed Obama in a very negative light.

I have not felt good about voting for a president for 20 years. Neither Bush was conservative enough for me and Dole was a great guy but not a serious candidate either.

"So you wanted McCain to get hung with the "picking on the black boy" tag."

That's bullshit. If someone is wrong you nail his hide to shed and do it in public.

"Why didn't he tell voters that in 2005 he warned of the dangerous waters..."

IIRC he did say he had tried to get legislation on this matter.

Voters who listen to the radio tend to be blue collar and work while listening to the radio, hence truckers, construction crews, etc.

That’s why radio listeners gave Nixon the nod while TV viewers gave it to Kennedy.
Also TV viewers tend to focus on “style” and “presentation” and are lead by “emotions”
Radio people listen to facts.

No need to bring him in this particular debate or any debate. TV ads tying Wright to Obama will be very destructive to Obama.

Obama's weaselly "preparations but not preconditions" is the defining moment of the night. It showed him for what he is - a man hwo will lie and never admit he is wrong.

America heard it for what it was - lawyertalk.
