Rush told the story today of what happened at the WH but even though he explained it three times, I’m still confused.
Barny Frank, Nancy P, Reid....all the Dems....deferred to Barack when Dubya asked them their thoughts. As background, all day long there had been email correspondence from Paulson’s buddies at Goldman Sachs to the Obama campaign.
Obama went to the WH meeting with the intent of being the star. After his other cheaters deferred to the Mighty He, Barack allegedly asked Paulson if it was the House Republicans holding things up.
This comment caused a riot of well-tanned Republicans with shiny nails and spit-shined wing tips. I imagine this riot consisted of angrily raising eyebrows but I digress.
Anyway the WH meeting broke up and as Rush called it, Barack blew his chance.
Somehow that story seems to be missing components. I know that Boehnner (best tan of all the Reps in the House) felt he was being “rolled” but I don’t understand how or why.
Any thoughts?

Thankfully, I have 3 TV's lined up. (please, it is normally for football and baseball). LOL

I think Obama has a couple of tricks up his sleeve. He has been practicing for a few days and probably has some cute little bombs he will drop when the opportunity arises.
No thoughts but I am very grateful to you for asking that question. I too listened to Rush and read the article here and am still confused too. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one.
There’s nothing better than live TV for entertainment value! I just hope the Repupublic doesn’t “fly off the motor into the tank”, so to speak!

My gut feeling is that if McCain simply holds serve it’s all moot because I don’t think bambi can overcome the Hillary/Bill undermining.
And given that this is about national security I think McCain is safe. The first one sets the tone too.
McCain needs to knock bambi off stride like explaining making phone calls and playing with his blackberry just won’t get the job done when Russia invades the next counrty or sends half it’s navy to hugo chavez.
As long as he stays away from saying he doesn’t ever talk about being a prisoner of war and then follows up with details about his war captivity I think it’s really his debate to lose.
I’m not nervous anymore...wonder why?
