It surprised me to that he didn’t attack Obama on blaming Bush for the last 8 years, and that he didn’t point out how many bills he has introduced over the last 16 or so years to try to stop the crisis from occurring in the first place. Easier for us to think of these things without the stress, and cameras, and lights - not to mention the fatigue from actually WORKING this week (unlike Obama...). :-)
I wonder if McCain’s strategy was to let Obama speak and trip himself up. There are a LOT of things McCain’s campaign can use from tonight to make Obama look like a complete fool, IMHO. :-)

I think the average person who doesn’t know a whole lot of the truth will be just as confused as before.. Even though I think it was a tie.. I believe McCain will get a slight bump in the polls.

Yes, he said he was going to attack Pakistan, hell Hillary ripped him a new one for the statement. He lied about what Kissenger said, and then he said how HE warned everyone about the financial situation .

I was actually glad Toeboy said Obama won the debate. Means Obama lost. Toeboy has worried me lately because he seemed sure McCain will win the election. I wish Toeboy made football picks - I make a mint betting the other way.
Well Dick Morris is agreeing with these women. He said he thought Obama won the first half and McCain the second and since the economy is upper most in people’s minds he won because he showed he cared more. He will definitely vote for McCain but thinks the night belonged to Obama.
I think this will turn out like the Algore one. I remember being dumbfounded at Gore’s behavior during the first one. I heard every sign and distinctly remember loudly complaining to my husband about it. The talking heads on Fox no less, did similar to this evening. I wondered how they could possibly miss the sighs, the attitude, the verbal audible eye rolls.
A day or two later people were starting to notice, but initially you’d think Gore had won the debate in all respects.
Now a lot of people say it was the debate that lost him the election.
I have a feeling this may do the same to Obama once it sinks in and people actually start playing those nonexistent sound bytes that Fred and Brit refused to acknowledge tonight.
Will do... If you can think of any lies/misstatements by Obama off the top of your head, do let me know. I may have missed some. I’ll have to go back over the debate question by question (hopefully there will be a transcript up somewhere soon - let me know if you see one. :-) ). I know there’s a LOT to nail Obama on tonight, it’s going to be fun! ;)
Now come back tomorrow and announce a bailout plan that the taxpayer can't refuse.

I was thinking about that the other day. Obama always refers to McCain as John McCain while McCain refers to Obama as Senator Obama. It must be some subtle attempt at undermining McCain.
