Dems Screw The Pooch
SF Chronicle ^ | 9/24/2008 | Cameron Scott

Posted on 09/24/2008 8:04:02 PM PDT by markomalley

First, they promised not to give an inch on offshore drilling. Then they vowed to make a crazy-as-a-fox compromise: allowing some offshore drilling to call the Republicans' bluff, while insisting on funding for alternative energy sources. After a bill modeled on strategy B passed in the House—but before it cleared the Senate—Democrats simply gave up the ghost and okayed offshore drilling everywhere. The word is they feared Republicans would force a government shutdown over the issue, because a budget bill is pending.

I say: bring it on.

Why can the Dems not prevail on an issue with both facts and morality on their side and the worst president in history sitting in the White House? Let the Republicans shut down the government—if memory serves, it's not exactly a vote-getter. Then stage a press conference every day with a different expert.

Saw the headline, and the fact that it was from the SF Chronicle......must say, the article wasn’t quite what I expected.

Because the Democrats have neither facts nor morality on their side. And the worst President in American history was Bill Clinton...though a real good case can be made for Franklin Delano Roosevelt taking that dishonor.

Other than that, Cameron Scott is a voluntary moron.

The Deranged Left is seething tonight... the Democrats caved in on off-shore drilling and Obambi met with the Devil Incarnate - Bush. They're fit to be tied in DU and Kossackland!

They may have that problem someday. But that day is not this day.

Dems have not had a handle on truth or morality in a loooooong time.

And the worst president in history left office in Jan. of '81.

From the Maha today -

RUSH: Oh, have you seen the Democrats on the offshore drilling moratorium? There are two reasons for this. "Democrats have decided to allow a quarter-century ban on drilling for oil off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts to expire next week, conceding defeat in a months-long battle with the White House and Republicans set off by $4 a gallon gasoline prices." Two things here, folks. Don't celebrate. Do you think the Democrats are doing anything for any reason other than their own self-interests? They are being hammered with constituent e-mail and so forth about this drilling business. They politically have to do this. However, what they will then do is get in league under cover of darkness with all of their left-wing fringe environmental groups and they will mount lawsuit after lawsuit after lawsuit, every attempt to drill offshore is made. If Obama is elected, there will be a new executive order that puts the moratorium back, puts the ban back in force, back in place.

This is simply an election year political move, because they're being hammered by this. It's being portrayed as a big Republican victory here. It is a big Republican victory in the sense that the truth of the Democrats on this, the truth of the need to drill has gotten out there. But, again, if the Democrats were being honest, they would not lift the ban. They don't want to drill. They don't want more supply. They're being forced here. They are just going to use methods outside of legislation to hold up. That's why people that are trying to push this new bill in Congress, you have to allow for lawsuits, I mean it's going to happen, but the legislation could say that every group that's going to file a lawsuit has to come together in one big lawsuit, one case, otherwise the left-wing fringe can tie up any drilling project from now 'til we die. That's the technique. That is what is going on.

Worse, Obummer saluted and reported for duty when Bush snapped his fingers.

The RATs think they will pick up seats in congress to where they are veto proof and with their new Liberal president can lock up American energy sources forever come Jan 21.

Libs think that if they keep calling Bush the worst President in history that’s how he’ll be remembered. If we don’t do something, they will surely get their sick wish.

These idiots will not be satisfied until we are all back to living in teepees and getting our light from campfires....oh...no...wait; teeepeess were made from animal skins, not good, and campfires increase our carbon footprint. Hmmmmmmm...

I'm sure that somehow, the author will still be driving his Volvo and we benighted ones will be living at a subsistence level.

I hope so too. In case my post was confusing I meant the article looked like satire not my energy policy points. Of course I only read as far as that one sentence I quoted. That was all I could take.

Me too. Although I spend a lot of time in the Bay Area, I don’t pay any attention to the lefty wierdos. I don’t want to end up pissed off and bitter, like most people out here. Point of trivia - the #1 radio station in the Bay Area is hard core right wing KSFO AM (due to their large folowing in the Central Valley and Sierra Nevada Mountains, I sure).

Given the source of this article, the title may not actually be metaphorical.
