Breaking: Obama Refuses to Delay the Debate

“In my mind, it’s more important than ever that we present ourselves to the American people and describe where we want to take the country and where we want to take the economy,” said the Democratic candidate for the Presidency, Senator Barack Obama.

The statement was given in response to Senator John McCain’s surprising announcement that he had suspended his campaign to focus on the looming financial crisis in America by returning to Washington to help craft and pass emergency legislation.

McCain had invited his opponent to join him in returning to Washington to deal with the crisis. He also asked for a delay in the first debate of the General election which is scheduled for Friday evening in Mississippi.

Senator Obama refused, telling the media “This is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsible for dealing with this mess.” Earlier in the day, Obama had agreed to issue a joint statement with McCain concerning the crisis. However, sources in the Obama campaign are now intimating that Senator McCain’s move is some kind of political “ploy”.

” Of course he will refuse. Come on! Obambi needs to battle the Palin effect; plus he doesn’t want to waste his time to vote ‘PRESENT’ again. “

Not to mention, that he has NO idea what to do about it!!

Yours is a typical inside the beltway mentality and you could not be more wrong.

This dumbass still won’t be “responsible for dealing this mess” until 20 January, 2009. The President elect has absolutely no power, or say in this matter. Which is another reason YOU are NOT getting my vote. He is not responsible enough to show up for his only job, and get the American people out of this mess. NOBAMA 08

The Dems are going to looks so stupid on this issue after this is said and done. The Dems will continue to play politics with this issue instead of getting things accomplished for the good of this country.

The Dems could see their whole power base crumble after this election.

It looks like Obama will vote Present on America's Financial meltdown.

“God help me, but I agree with Obama here. The American people want to hear with the next President plans to do about this.”

McCain isn’t just telling people about what he would do, he is DOING IT.

This legislation will be passed and signed into law way before the election. Talking about what you would do after you are elected is meaningless, because the time for action will have passed.

Obama just caved, announced he’s suspending his campaign and delaying the debate.

Sounds like Unconditional Surrender.

Yes, of course, and NOTHING Obambi does is political. <> Ri-i-i-ight.

During the statement of Obama’s that I heard, he said that this is a time to put partisan politics aside and sold the economic problem at hand. Having a debate in the middle of it is about as partisan as it gets.

I disagree.

The American people don't want to hear more BS. Talk is cheap. Suspending your campaign for President to return to your duties as a sitting US Senator is leadership.

Once again Barack "call me" Obama has failed that test.

McCain is looking like he cant walk and chew gum at the same time!

Really?? Isn’t it strange how we all look at this. I see this as McCain putting the country first!! This is not minor . . . McCain has the opportunity to show the country just who he is and what he is about. Sarah can keep on campaigning . . . Crybaby can say all he wants about the AMERICAN PEOPLE but this just makes him look goofier than ever . . . IMHO.

Zero must have forgotten there won’t be a teleprompter at the debates. Oh, wait ... he probably has the Q&As memorized and doesn’t want to be all dressed up with no place to go.

No, Palin needs to go to Washington with McCain and go through this process with him as much as possible.

Who cares. The legacy media is just one voice among many at this point in history.

They will be balanced out and eventually overwhelmed by the New Media getting the truth out.

McCain is calling out Barack to walk the walk. Barack is still content to just talk the talk. Barack has spent most of his time as a Senator running for President. He has no intention of going back to do the job he was elected to do. He would rather talk about what he plans to do as President rather than take any action.

I’ve a renewed respect for John McCain.

and if YOU do I bet a lot of other people do too---hopefully undecideds. Especially after that crack "if they need me they can call me" another nice gaffe that needs to be seized upon. Mr Elite can't roll up his sleeves and actually do some work.
