Just for the record.

the reason that the UK is not paying any interest is because it repayed every penny, plus interest, that it received during the war.

Our indebtedness, apart from that based on mutual trust and affection, is zero

None of those countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.

Well that's certainly true for Britain.

If only because Britain paid its war-debts off in full, including interest, at the end of 2006.
