Gannett owned website. Headline and link only. Will look for another postable source. The article says the fire chief estimates the crowd today at Palin's rally at 70,000.

This is so cool, especially after the media reported way more people then there was at the “Obama-Elko NV” rally. That was where he said he supported the 2nd amendment and would not take our guns. AND said “get in their faces”...
There is no net for the RATS in reporting anything about this.
They can’t report that FL way under-estimated the demand for Sarah.
They can’t report the mega-lipstick, that would only force them to repeat Obama’s comment that begat this firestorm of support.
They’ve been out-Obama’d, and now they can only bite their nails and chew their ties about upcoming rallies.
They can’t send any Code Pinkos, either, not that any of them have the nuts to attend.
Beginning to look a lot like CHECKMATE.
When the reporter brought up the NATO and War with Russia crap that Governor Palin discussed with Gibson, I almost kicked in the TV. Never mentioned that Obami wants Georgia to join NATO. Then he asks McCain if he REALLY can see Governor Palin assuming the Presidency.
Just another MSM condescending Prick. Sorry, but I'm pissed.
Wonder if Biden is still singing this.

I nominate this for your new tagline.
No bias in this article.../s
Mike Tucker, a local fire marshal, estimated 60,000. But reporters on the ground, including AP’s Brendan Farrington and my colleague Ken Vogel, would only say “tens of thousands,” suggesting the marshal’s estimate was on the high side. The St. Pete Times’s Adam Smith had another fire official in the crowd say it was about 25,000.

Or fighter fly-overs. Imagine a flight show over a rally!
Even here in Austin we have flyovers at Texas games, nothing cooler.
I just now followed the link to the Ft. Myers News-Press, and all instances of 70,000 in the headline and article have been changed to 60,000.
Rather than print a correction or retraction, news outlets are changing the original articles.
So which is it? Did the Fire Chief report a crowd of 70,000 as originally reported, or did the Fire Chief report a crowd of 60,000, or is the Ft. Myers News-Press deliberately altering the facts?
The first Florida campaign stop by the Alaska governor and Republican phenom drew a crowd estimated at 60,000 by officials in this Central Florida retirement community.
It was the largest crowd ever for a political event at The Villages, community spokesman Gary Lester said. The Republican bastion is a frequent stopping place for GOP candidates.
More than four hours before Palin arrived, cars and golf carts jammed nearby roads and thousands of people clogged the Disneyesque Sumter Landing town center area to wait in the baking heat for a glimpse of Palin.
THE VILLAGES - With thousands of supporters packing the streets and sidewalks of this massive retirement community, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said Sunday that she and John McCain would reform Washington, put America on the path to energy independence and nurse a struggling economy back to health.
Palin, who has become a Republican phenomenon, also slipped comfortably into the role of political hit man, stoking the cheering crowd with jabs at Democrat Barack Obama.
Obama “likes to point the finger of blame,” she said, “but has he ever lifted a finger to help?”
“No!,” the crowd yelled back.

It was an Obama love fest. Not one tough question..even when there were perfect openings to ask, at least about his connections to this sub-prime mortgage meltdown!
I am pissed too and starting to have those feelings of hopelessness. I know tomorrow or the next day...the fighting spirit will be back..but tonight...I’m tired of the battle. It’s not even Obama really, because if our media would do it’s job..he would not have a prayer of becoming President of the United States! He is nothing but an empty suit with marxist ideas. The very fact that almost half the country wants to vote for him is all due to the MSM covering for his nefarious and corrupt core!!
The media has truly become a fifth column!
We have to keep fighting them and will, but sometimes...it really brings me to tears. It’s so unfair.
Headed to bed. ‘Tomorrow Is Another Day’!!
It has been unfair for over 50 years. Now we have FOX News, talk radio, and the conservatives on the internet. Fifty years ago we had none of this, although the MSM was less vicious.
The ‘news’ had to throw an interview with a nutjob in the mix.

Joan Watterson, another resident of The Villages, had a different view of Palin than many of her neighbors.
“She is a woman hater instead of a woman helper, and I just can’t imagine anybody not seeing that,” Watterson told News 13. “Everything that she says — I mean, those of us who are women, we’re not going to do too well under her, and it bothers me to think that she one day might be president.”

Yeah, you prolly couldn’t tell my tongue was firmly in my cheek with that post, but I’m just excited that Palin’s popularity with R voters who were going to vote for McCain anywy, holding onto their noses, is going through the roof. That’s gotta stick in their craw.
