J Street has just won its first political skirmish. Only a day or so ago it began a campaign to petition Malcolm Hoenlein and the Conference of Presidents against its decision to invite Sarah Palin to address a UN rally against Iran on the day the latter's president addresses the world body.
With ‘friends’ like these....

Maybe J STREET should worry about THEIR TAX EXEMPT status since they are supporting ALL DEMOCRATS, just take a look at their website. Most of the ‘leaders’ are former staff members of Democrats too.
J STREET = the usual THUGS
Lets try this again...
Malcolm Hoenlein Tells Nachum Segal It Was Not His Decision to Disinvite Palin
Because presidents are not dictators. When the Board votes, they execute the decision of the organization or resign.
I accidentally included an extra quote mark. Sorry.
Yes, it does.
I am not Jewish but a freeper who is Jewish once explained on a thread long ago that the Jewish people tend to be self-flagellating. They love to stick "Kick Me" signs on their own backs. For example, Jews in this country usually vote overwhelmingly for the party that would prevent them from having the guns they need to protect themselves the next time a despotic government decides to herd them into the boxcars.
It's weird. Don't ask me to explain WHY so many Jews are self-flagellating.
But yes, it defies logic as we understand it.
FRegards,
LH
True enough.
The people threatening them with pulling their tax exempt status ALSO has a tax exempt status...J Street!
Someone needs to have the J Street tax exempt status pulled!
“Malcolm is deeply upset but had to step back and save the rally. He said the truth would come out and the folks responsible for this would have to deal with the consequences of this shameful episode.”
I would hope so ... we have a right to know which tax-exempt organizaions threatened other tax-exempt organizations in order to advance their own political agenda. Then those who threatened should permanently lose their tax-exempt status and those making the threats should spend a little time cooling their heels in the slammer. General population. The lawyers pushing the threats should be disbarred.
And, Jews of good faith should continue to support only those organizations that are are proven to be for the greater good and not for the advancement of a marxist agenda.
Again, that doesn’t wash, unless Malcolm went and invited Palin without discussing it with the board in the first place. In which case, I would think he would be asked to resign. Somebody has to take responsibility for this and not just say, “oh, but they scared us by threatening to take away our tax exempt status.”
This is crap. I would like to see you have done different. The Warsaw getto revolt was done with little more than a handful of guns. But, Hitler took all of the guns and employed Jews to reassure the others it would be ok, even though everyone knew it wouldn't. Despair, powerlessness, the perceived enmity of the surrounding people and starvation were the tools of this evil. They have been used before, and will be used again. Don't add to this by cursing the Jews for this, remember that the survivors who made it to Israel redefined the meaning of valor and resistance in the teeth of fierce and overwhelming force.
You wouldn't know it for the current crop of Israeli Pols, but Jews are humans first. And we all have courage and exhibit cowardice in situations that we find ourselves in. Don't fall prey to absurd judgments or buying the lies of those who live for hate.
Now who is stereotyping?
Once you give in to THUGS you'll have to keep giving in to them. They know NO BOUNDS!
First, or again, crap. How do you differentiate these folks from other American Liberals, be they Episcopal, Unitarian, Presbyterian, Catholic or whatever. Liberals see guns as a problem that needs solving. Something unsafe to have in their homes because they know for a fact, and this is true that the gun is most likely to be used on an occupant of that house, rather than someone from outside especially in times of peace.
They see our country as civilized and the Gun people are the crazies.
This is wrongheaded in many ways but not all.
Jews live with a sense of the need for compassion and justice and they are prepared to admit being wrong, this is not "Kick Me" but some could sell it as such.
Christians who practice their faith with humility and devotion are just as willing to accept the possibility of being in error.
Our United States is built on some very basic "Liberal Values" Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness. The idea of a society ruled by Laws and not Men. These are great Liberal ideas, but they are build on a foundation of faith and the idea that these rights come from God.
Those who reject God become lost, mistaking wrong for right, up for down and evil for good.
if you say all Jews are this or that, it is just as grave an error as any other prejudice. Don't go there.
Now who is stereotyping?
I recommend you read
History of the Jews by Paul Johnson
A renoun Catholic Historian and Scholar.
Or
In Defense of Israel by John Hagee
Somewhat Controversial book by Rev. John Hagee that details why and how the Jewish community came to fear and distrust Christians. Some see this book as Catholic Bashing but the assertions are even more detailed in Johnson's book.
There is a long history of Christian persecution of Jews, denying that is foolish.
Rather, the question is whether Christians have truly repented and learned from this historic evil, and it takes time and repeated examples of Christian action that matches the sweet words to create trust that only 60 years ago was so terribly shaken.
If we cannot agree on the facts of general suspicions of a people who are haunted by the deaths of so many loved onese, then we cannot move forward to finding trust. Only two members of my Great-Grandparents generation survived. This isn't a distant memory, it kept me from God for nearly 50 years, trying to accept that God could and would allow it. Many still have not been able to cross this barrier. It takes time.
Thanks brother, We have not ALL been drinking the fascist kool-aid.
McCain/Palin 08
Okay Dalight, sufficiently chastised, I apologize for being a dumbass. Now, quit flaming those who support you, among my Jewish friends we can have impassioned discourse but we don’t stoop to shouting “dumbass” at each other. We use the moment to guide each other with logic and by pointing out where truth and propaganda divide, right?
I absolutely did not say or imply anything of the sort. Get a grip. As a matter of fact, the JPFO is one of my favorite organizations. Nothing can hide the fact, however, that Jews in this country vote in the vast majority for the party of socialism, atheism, gun control, infanticide, and foreign appeasement. That's "vast majority", just to reiterate.
.....here are of course exceptions.....
.....here are of course .....
