A week after a high-profile send-up of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night Live," the NBC comedy show returned to making fun of the Alaskan governor in a skit where New York Times reporters sought to probe the possibility Palin's husband was having sex with the couple's own daughters.
"What about the husband?" asked a Times reporter during a mock assignment meeting for the paper. "You know he's doing those daughters. I mean, come on. It's Alaska."
The assignment editor for the Times, portrayed by actor James Franco, responded: "He very well could be. Admittedly, there is no evidence of that, but on the other hand, there is no convincing evidence to the contrary. And these are just some of the lingering questions about Governor Palin."
The skit featured a photo of one reporter and an on-screen message that stated, "In 2009 [reporter] Howland Gwathmey Moss, V was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his Times series on unproven, yet un-disproven incest in the Palin family. Sadly, he was to die 3 months later, run over by a snow machine, driven by a polar bear."
The final shot showed an image of a New York Times page, with headlines that included:
"While No Direct Evidence of Incest in Palin Family Emerges, Counter Evidence Remains Agonizingly Elusive" and "In a Small Alaska Town, Doubts Still Linger."

The most despicable creatures on this earth are liberals.
HHFi,
You are wrong. This one hits a whole bunch of deep cultural buttons. And the way most people will know about the SNL skit will be by word of mouth, and via political attack ads, not seeing it.
What do you think Republican political ad makers can do to the Democrats given the Frankin connection to the SNL skit, the bottom of the gutter sexism involved, and the reputation that Obama campaign has for using overt sexism to beat Hillary?
Hell, imagine how Rush Limbaugh is going to use it in his opening monologue on Monday!
At a minimum, SNL just made sure that the Republican evangelical vote will exceed 2004 both in total size and voting percentage going Republican.
This is one where silence by the Democrats will be damning.
Democrats have about 36 hours to disown Frankin in every sense of the word or they become the party that has sexism as one of its core values.
I agree.
The problem is not SNL but the enemedia.
New low for the show?
just a bunch of snot-nosed, adolescent, sociopathic scu&bags with bad manners, hiding behind the first amendment while at the same time subverting it.
IMHO
“You know he’s doing those daughters. I mean, come on. It’s Alaska.”
Alaska? I never heard this being done in Alaska. Alabama definitely...West Virginia of course, but Alaska???? I never put incest and Alaska in the same sentence.
Personally I don’t care whether it’s satire. . . not funny at all. Ever. To use the name of a respectable man in the same sentence with a reference to incest is vile. Shame on SNL.
Surely we’re not serious with this are we? If so, I think it’s pretty outrageous... Palin should be careful on how she responds... I think she should simply say... I didn’t watch it..
Was Tina Fey in the skit?
If they were obviously mocking the reporters then I’d say so.... I think one would have to watch and judge themselves.
The skit was not offensive to Palin. It was trying to slam the NY Times as being obsessed with smearing Palin and her family.
I am not sure why ANYONE, in their right mind, would assume the topic of incest is funny....ever. That is reall sick.
BZT! Sorry. The KOS kids did indeed suggest that Trig was the product of incest between Todd and Bristol, which is why Sarah hushed it up by pretending to be pregnant.
The biggest problem with the skit is that it WASN'T FUNNY. It's not funny that our news media IS a bunch of elite morons. Incest isn't funny.
The skit was not offensive to Palin.
How do YOU know that it wasn’t offensive to Todd Palin? Are you saying that if you were a father with a daughter you would accept the comments made by SNL because they attacked the NYTimes? You wouldn’t be offended or embarrassed by that imagery, despite it being untrue?
I doubt the Palins were amused.
“You know he’s doing those daughters. I mean, come on. It’s Alaska.”
This is a smack at the entire state. Yikes.
The Franken bit was lame and humorless (but I repeat myself...it was 'written' by Franken). I think the one we discussing right now was written by Seth Meyers (who, along w/Fey and Poulin, wrote the openning last week). I think Mr. Meyers will be leaving SNL for greener pastures...he is too funny for them.
