I was only 1/2 paying attention when Bill Hemmer was interviewing the 2 pundits afterwards.
When Obama’s guy tried to bring up Keating, did I hear Hemmer deliver a punch to get this guy to stay on topic?
John McCain looked poised, calm Presidential...a man we can surely trust. He should be called Mr. McCain..deserves lots of respect...
Now lets see what the punk Obama has to say...what he is told to say...OH he will come back with some fine lines from his financial advisors...MR RAINES AND JOHNSON.....
OBAMA HAS LOST ALL CREDIBILITY...SIT DOWN JUNIOR LET THE ADULTS HANDLE IT. GO PLAY PRESIDENT SOMEWHERE ELSE, WE ARE TIRED OF THE SHOW!
I tend to believe, based upon what I have read of the history of this mess, that the dimrats bear more responsibility for it than do Republicans. But I think that McCain has concluded that in this election the advantage goes to the candidate who appears to be “bipartisan”. By tarring both parties on this he appears to be above the partisan fray and sticks to his message of “country first” and “working for the people”. And in fact I believe that McCain really is far more “bipartisan” than Hussein who is revealing that he is rabidly partisan.
I haven’t been able to watch this but from the comments here McCain and Palin have come across as serious and sober in demeanor. This is very important in an election where the voters are largely fed up with partisan bickering and back-biting.
As much as I admire governor Palin, the comment about the recent grad from med school having debt sounded very Hillaryisc...I hope McCain isn’t having too much influence on her.
Let’s see if Obama can give a serious, well crafted speech. I don’t think he can. It will be just another rally.
This financial storm may have been created to make Bush look bad and as we all know they thought if the economy was on peoples minds Obamas advantage....Well Mr. McCain just took charge....Obama was silly enough or Niave enought to surround himself with the most corrupt and dispicable men. What was he thinking? We are in a financial mess and his two top advisors are the reason why.

Didn’t see the statement on Politico myself, but did find this article basically saying that he would hold off so that the Fed’s work is “unimpeded by partisan wrangling.” Or perhaps so that he can just copy someone else’s plan.

In that same "debate," McCain told Tim Russert that he was really well versed on economics, having been chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.
I'd rather have as president someone who knows something of what was once (i.e., last week) called "free-market economics" than someone whose economic education came from bankers and lawyers.
This will be another election where my wants will not be met. Nothing new.

This just in. He’s asked his ‘Economic team’ to refrain from giving a response??? Who exactly is running for Pres?? Does he need time to restructure his economic team (e.g., quickly get replacements for Raines & Johnson)?:

I don't need the government to solve my problems. I need the government to solve THE GOVERNMENT's problems -- namely, a headlong rush into national insolvency as the burdens of the consumer and corporate welfare state came crashing down in the next 10-20 years, as they inevitably must.
