First US-Mex fence: fewer migrants, more violence
The Washington Post ^ | September 13, 2008 | Traci Carl

TIJUANA, Mexico -- There is a moment each evening, as the sun melts into the Pacific, when Colonia Libertad is at peace....but it is only a moment. The floodlights click on, bathing the neighborhood in a blinding light. The helicopters return, clattering past. And the smugglers arrive with their ladders and blow torches and groups of people desperate to escape a fate similar to the one residents of Colonia Libertad long ago accepted.

Well, I guess we better just give up on the fence, then, if the Associated Press says so. And they just named this biased bonehead liberal squish bureau chief for Latin America.

Can’t the AP just cross the border and fix Mexico so we don’t need a fence?

LOL! You know that the fence must be working when the AP attacks it!

the developing nation that lives in its shadow.

Mischaracterization. Mexico is a 3rd world nation that is stagnate or digressing.

As the U.S. government DUNCAN HUNTER battles environmentalists and residents to build hundreds more miles of fencing along the 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border

much better!

MORE violence? Pre-fence, the Tijuana-San Diego smuggling route was the scene of nightly killings, robbery, and rapes. Armed gangs roamed the hills and gullies and carried out all manner of depredations at will. To cross was to take your life into your hands. This article makes it sound like it was some sort of Arcadia.

“shattering a shared American and Mexican history that is blind to things such as fences and borders....”

What shared history? That Mexico has always been a pain in our backyard?

Also, a federal judge threw out a lawsuit against the fence last week. See the story and be sure to read the truly hilarious comments at the link. Apparently everyone in El Paso is not an open borders nutcake like the mayor: http://www.elpasotimes.com/news/ci_10451761

While Tancredo has been great about getting the word out about the border, Hunter has done the bulk of the heavy lifting down there.

Mexico is developing nation that lives in the shadow of the US.

Mischaracterization. Mexico is a 3rd world nation that is stagnate or digressing.

MORE LIKE Mexico is leeching onto the US and our assets (if we have any left).

Hispanic Political Operator---Juan Hernandez----is a dual US/Mexico citizen--who headed the Mexican government's "Ministry of Mexicans Living in the US."

Hernandez told Cong Tancredo that "The Ministry" exists is to increase the flow of Mexicans to the US TO SERVE Mexico’s needs including: $10 billion annual remittances to Mexico (30% of Mexico's GDP); employment for Mexico's exploding population, to alleviate Mexican social instability, and to provide job training for Mexicans THAT THEY WILL BRING BACK TO MEXICO.

Hernandez told Cong Tancredo: ‘’By Mexico populating the US with millions of Hispanics tied economically, politically and linguistically to Mexico, our government is able to exert enormous influence and pressure on US policy and its dealings with Mexico.’’

Get ready for a massive transfer of US wealth to greedy federales in the Mexican hellhole.

The sap-happy whining about "hopeless people" looking for a "better life" here is nonsense. Hernandez and other Third World gov't agents have infiltrated the US political system for ONE REASON: to effect a massive transfer of US wealth.

Third World federales are salivating at the thought.

=========================================

History shows the Huns, the Vandals, and the Barbarians used force to taleover a country to loot its resources. Third World parasites like Hernandez use the US political system to divide and conqueur. They seek to conquer without firing a shot.

We can look forward to lettuce pickers stripping down to camouflage and shoulder holsters, roaming our streets, shooting to kill anyone who dares to speakout.

The invaders violated our borders for a "better life" (sarc) and while flipping hamburgers, they cleaned out the US Treasury, looted SS, UI, Disability, EITC, Workmen's Comp, welfare; they shut down numerous hospitals, sued everything in sight, and made big bucks selling drugs to American youth.

Now they'll retire in luxury at beachfront condos with multiple US govt checks rolling in.

More reasons to declare these agents of corrupt Third World governments invading our country "enemies of state."

The war with Mexico was about borders....silly how they forget those things.

Seems to me that Israel’s fence is working just fine.

It’s interesting. At least in some places, Israel’s is a double fence, with one road width in between. The road is plowed every day; the ground can then be inspected to see if anyone has crossed. I am sure there is much more to it, as well.

No, the war with Mexico was about the violations of the civil rights of US migrants moving to Texas and the SW. We, the US, were invaders into sovereign territory of Mexico. We were seen as illegal immigrants who rose up to claim independence from a dictator.

General SantaAnna was given the directive to re-take their sovereign territory but was defeated by Sam Huston.

“Other drug runners have taken to the mountains, using blowtorches to cut large doors in the fence and then taking four-wheel-drive vehicles across the rugged terrain.”

Anyone cutting a hole in the fence with a blowtorch should be shot. Some day we stop playing silly games with these invaders. They should know that some behaviors will not be tolerated, and we’d see a drastic decrease in those behaviors.

I can understand why a fence could cause problems. My next door neighbor just put up one and it’s cut me off completely from his lawnmower.
How inconsiderate! Once he even complained about buying gas for his own mower. Guess that tells you what kind of guy he is. And, if you can imagine, he wanted me to bring his gas can back with my gas in it. What an ingrate!
Actually I think he’s prejudiced against people that drink beer because every time I open the old fridge in his garage for a cold one he suddenly has somewhere to go in a hurry.
So I know how a fence can ruin a friendship. If this keeps he’s not getting his garden hose back.

They have now built nearly 400 miles of fence. Considering they only built 70 miles last year, I would say the pace has picked up! Oddly enough, the Mexican newspapers and wire services publish pictures of it all the time, but ours don’t.
